Aug 2. – Thursday – Arrival Zagreb
Arrived in Zagreb. Rental car was not ready so I sat I and had my first of many Coffees. Delicious as always. Got to the rental car and it was too small so I Asked for a larger van. Ended up renting mini bus renault traffic 9 seater. Negotiated the upgrade at the counter from 720 euro to 100 euro in his hand. Drove to vivodina. Met steph and kids. Steve and joann, tugo nada and teta tetac there. Had nice lunch. Afternoon drove to zagreb had visit with teta marina and Mihalcic family. Drive home exhausted passed out by 9pm. Woke up at 4am... usual first night jet lag.Read more

Woke up early 5am.. jet lag ..couldn’t sleep. Went for a walk through Vivodina and then drove to Krasic for coffee. Drove from vivodina to sisak to visit with rafajs. Had a great visit with Marko and Barbara and then they had a bbq meal with family. Teta anka, mate and marina came for dinner. Had a great visit and dinner. Still a little jet lagged. Fell asleep by 10.Read more

Aug 4- Saturday -Sisak and Petrinja
Went into the town. Swimming at the river (kupa). Had ice cream and coffee. Went to visit stari grad in sisak. Learned about the war and history of this region. Went for dinner to petrinja. Beautiful drive with a lot of history and reminance of the war. Restaurant was called korablja tisinic. Amazing food teletina ispod peke and homeade soup.. for desert palacinke. Delicious. a great place. Outside is a petting zoo for kids with deer, llamas, kangaroos, birds, squirrels rabbits and more. Kids loved it. Came back to rafajs and tried a hookah for first time. Relaxing drink and chat one their veranda. Great day.Read more

Aug. 5. Sunday- Sisak and Glina
Woke up at 4am to drive steph to airport in zagreb where she was leaving for paris. Barbara made thick crepes.. kids were in heavan. Went to outdoor swimming pool in sisak called caprag. It was awesome. Kids had so much fun. After this went for late lunch/ dinner to Pečenjarnica PETICA. Amazing. After this took kids for ice cream. Home for a rest to get ready for Thompson in concert in glina. Marko drove Katarina, Iva and I to glina for victory day (Oluja). over 80k people. Dalmatino, drazen zarko and Thompson performed. Amazing experience for me and the girls, unforgetable.Read more

Aug 6 Monday. Sisak.
Went to pool caprag again with kids. Steph in paris still. Met marko at gema pizzeria in sisak located along the river kupa. Great pizza. Iva and kat had an arrugala and tomato pizza and loved it. Came home relaxed. It was so hot out 34d. Went after dinner to visit teta marina and jadranko at their house in sisak. Finished night off with a drink with barbara and marko on their terrace. Another great day in Sisak.Read more

Woke up early and headed to zagreb. Met up with domagoj. Had breakfast and coffee downtown an walked around. Went to the zagreb zoo. Kids really enjoyed it. After zoo went for cevape to Restaurant Urban Grill Sarajevo. It was great. Headed back to sisak. Enroute stopped to see marinko katulic.. who made all of our tamburice. Neat place. 3500 for new brac.. i said id think about it. Back to sisak. Kids had ice cream. Went for late dinner with rafajs to kapitol restarant in sisak. Kids njoyed it.. ivi and marina ordereed sarma and both finished their meal. impressive considering the sarma were huge, Took kids for ice cream again. Back to rafajs terrace for a night cap!Read more

Steph came home from Paris. Headed to zagreb with kids to pick her up. I booked an airbnb for the night to spend a couple days seeing the sites and have some family time. Great airbnb (win win apartments). Host met us.. nice place just 15 mins from trg ban jelacic. Walked around and viewed the sites in centar and gornji grad. Went for late lunch at bistro dolac. Food was ok..not great. Came home to relax. Too hot out.. Went back out around 830. Great walk down ilica towards trg ban jelacic. Stopped for ice cream at renound slasticarina vincek. Then sat and had a beer in cvjetni trg. Walked home back to our place. Zagreb is a special place. I love it there.Read more
