• … and so it ends, Ivrea

    September 3 in Italy ⛅ 20 °C

Ended up walking much of the last day with my two Belgian mates, Tin Tin and Captain Haddock (not their real names). There were separations due to navigation discrepancies, usually involving me behind them at one point, then way ahead of them at the next point due to them using totally different parameters for decision making at divergent paths as they would prevaricate seemingly endlessly at an ambivalent intersection and I would dive down a path clearly obvious to me.
The good news is that we ended up in Ivrea in a way that we could navigate to the nearest cafe/bar for a celebratory beer or two.
We ended up having a lovely dinner together and they were so nice to me despite their struggle with English and my struggle with French. Friends for life as happens on these long walks with like minded people in the right place the right time.
Ivrea is a lovely town but I am tired and cannot write anymore.
More thoughts tomorrow maybe … probably not though maybe we will see as I drift about Ivrea, the home of Olivetti typewriters if you grew up in the age of those things that were a giant leap forward at the time
