Day 3: Road trip to Yamoussoukro

Left the hotel at 6:21am for the bus park. As I got there I saw a bus leaving probably an earlier Yamoussoukro bus.

The next bus was an express VIP bus leaving at 7:30 so I paid for that (XOF 8,000 as against 5,000 for the regular bus). There was an issue with my hand luggage as they kept insisting i have to out it in the cargo hold. After much talk they allowed me take it onboard but kept in front beside the driver by the hostess.

The trip took about 4hrs as we got to Yamoussoukro at 11:30. A Yango taxi took us to the hotel I had booked weeks back only to be told that the hotel stopped working with Hotels.Com over a year ago. So I had to reach out to hotels.com to inform them and request for a cancellation which took some time before heading back into town to look for another hotel.Read more
