• Day 6: Around the neighborhood

    February 3 in Ivory Coast ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

I needed to change some money so I Googled the nearest Money Exchange which was a 15min walk from the apartment, lol and behold the place was now a construction site, so I googled for another one close by and was directed to a building 7mins away. The money exchange firm was located on the 2nd floor, through twisting corridors and seedy looking staircases. I almost turned back but mustered the courage to complete.

The clerk too so long to make the transaction kept punching and repunching the computer keyboard until I got pissed and asked her what the delay was all about, she had also collected my passport and passed it to someone else who also delayed returning it. Eventually my passport was returned and the CFA given to me and I made a hasty retreat from the building.

On the ground floor was a restaurant. I ordered Rice, Peanut sauce and fried plantain unknown to me these were 2 separate meals but I managed to finish them ending up with a bloated stomach. The food was very cheap.

Leaving the restaurant I headed off to Woodin, a Ghanian couture, famous for making dresses using Ankara fabrics. They used to be in Lagos in the early 2010s but not any more. Sadly I couldn't find any shirt I liked, so I returned to the apartment.

At 6pm went to Super U to buy their precooked meal for dinner.
