Visit to the Heidelberg Castle. First mention of this castle was in 1196 as "Heidelberch" castle, its ruins are among the most important Renaissance structures north of the Alps. The castle is a combination of several buildings surrounding an inner courtyard. Each building highlights a different period of German architecture. Two huge wine barrels, one really big and an ancient sundial in the courtyard. The castle was damaged by fire, lightning and war.Read more
