    Traveling day

    17. juni 2022, Frankrig ⋅ ☀️ 79 °F

Our Europe 2022 Family trip begins with stops in Rome, Italy; Pompei and Amalfi coast for Starks; Paris France; London, England; Edinburgh, Scotland. We (Starks, Watsons, Barb, Jenn, and me) left LAX for a long flight first to Paris for a quick layover and then on the Rome, Italy. We had a great flight with some of us sleeping okay. We were very tired when we arrived but loved the Airbnb with 6 bedrooms and baths. The location was great with a coffee shop, restaurants and even grocery store near and 5 minutes’ walk from Vatican City. Dana had trouble with her phone, so she spent time at the coffee shop downstairs. The trip was off to a great start!!!Læs mere

  • Rome (con't) & Pomp

    20. juni 2022, Italien ⋅ ☀️ 88 °F

The Starks traveled to the Amalfi Coast and Pompei while the rest of the FamBam went to Paris. Lincoln found the symbol on the walls in Pompei directing to the whore houses. They said the Amalfi coast was one of their favorite locations.
We loved Rome and the Hop on Hop Off bus. Part of the group went to the Vatican to see all the gold and paintings. The Trevi fountain at night was filled with many pictures and gelato for all. The Trevi fountain goes back to 19 B.C. where it formed the end of the Aqua Virgo aqueduct.
We traveled by train to Frascati, a small village outside of Rome, for a quiet day with food and great views of Rome.

  • Frascati, Italy

    21. juni 2022, Italien ⋅ ☀️ 82 °F

We visited all the tourist attractions and a great time with the family. We went outside of the city by train to visit the small town of Frascati. Frascati Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral. It was built in 1598 and was bombed in WWII. Jenn could not get into the confessional so she did a prayer outside of the confession. Jovie loved to sing Ring Around the Rosie in the church ...sounded creepy. Jovie did kneel to say a prayer...good sweet girl. Lincoln held the side of the old buildings up we all ate good food at an outdoor cafe.Læs mere

  • Paris, France (con't)

    23. juni 2022, Frankrig ⋅ ☁️ 72 °F

Dana grabbed a spot on the grass to watch the Eiffel Tower at night, it was a blast. The "drinkers" enjoyed Champaign by the bottle and crepes as well. Lots, I mean lots of selfies while the Tower glittered and blinked. Jenn ate so many charcoal chews for her stomach that her mouth turned black... Great time.

Palace of Versailles was spectacular although Jill got faint and had to rest in the Palace. We ventured to Montmartre on the hill to see the church and shops and had a bit of rain. Jill and Jovie posed at one of the many historic Wallace Fountains where free, drinkable water was available from fountains which look like sculptures. We saw all the tourist sites while enjoying the hop on hop off bus. Some of our group actually slept on the bus..hmmm I wonder who that was?

  • Paris

    24. juni 2022, Frankrig ⋅ ⛅ 72 °F

Paris was wonderful visiting the city, the Palace of Versailles, Muse D' Orsay and shopping in the city center and the Latin Quarter. We saw the show at the Moulin Rouge with topless dancers and Jovie said it was "Talented, but weird".

The glittering golden roof of the Dome church is a landmark in Paris, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, and was commissioned by King Louis XIV in 1706. The Arc de Triomphe honors those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. Notre Dame is still stunning even after the fire.

Laura decided she liked nougat and didn't understand the conversion and purchased over $100 worth, Ooh lala. Maddie and Jillian selected Pandora rings from me, and we loved our hotel the St. Paul Rive Gauge. Action Jackson made an appearance at the Louvre, and Vince Van Gough posed for Barb & me.

  • London, England

    25. juni 2022, England ⋅ ⛅ 61 °F

We arrived in London early in the AM and wern't sure we liked the "hotel" (London 29) as it had dirty sofas in the lobby. We stayed anyway since the location was good and the rooms were just okay. While waiting for our rooms we had breakfast and Jenn and Dana had hysterics that we’re contagious. Buckingham Palace was right across from our hotel.
The Starks went to Windsor Castle to say hi to the Queen...more on that later. Stone Henge was seen and so was the Tower Bridge.
The Bridge,, built between 1886 and 1894, It crosses the River Thames close to the Tower of London. The bridge was constructed to give better access to the East End of London.
Leeds Castle was filled with history of Lady Baillie's life as well as history. Canterbury Cathedral is from 597AD and oldest still in use Cathedral. Thomas Becket was murdered in 1710. The Cantebury Tales written by Chaucer takes place in Cantebury.
We found a cute tea shop in Chilham with scones and beer for Lincoln and Michael, our tour guide.

  • Edinburgh, Scotland

    1. juli 2022, Skotland ⋅ ⛅ 57 °F

We loved Scotland and the Queen was in town flying her flag high, I almost got to see her, well maybe not. Ross was our tour guide & took us to the Scotish Highlands. Our Airbnb was owned by owner of Giuliano’s restaruant directly below the apartment, good food.
The Queen was there to celebrate the Cermony of the Keys. I tried to sneak in the line for the celebration at the surprise of my family standing across the street, hahah.
The Golden Mile was full of eating, drinking and shopping. The "drinkers" made it home after singing at the Whiski Pub.
The Highlands were green with rivers, castles and filming locations for the TV series, Outlander..Jenn & I were excitted for sure.
