    Exmouth and Cape Range NP

    Thank you, Yardi Creek Homestead, our access point to Exmouth, and also the pristine reef fringed beaches in Cape Range NP and the Ningaloo reef Great swimming and snorkelling in the crystal clear touqoise waters. Lots of marine life with turtles bobbing their heads up but also a few critters with big teeth....
    Now off to Coral Bay, hoping to tick off another item on our bucket list and swim with those majestic mantarays.    Leer más

    Coral Bay

    Can't go past this one street beach caravan park with 2 pubs.... very popular as crystal clear touqoise waters and fantastic snorkelling. We missed out on swimming withvthe mantarays so will have to go back to Lady Elliott in QLD as its another mantaray hangout.Leer más

    Warroora station

    Waroorra station is a working cattle farm that has opened itself to homestead and coastal camping grounds. We surfed at Stevens camp and visited Elles , Maggie's, and Sandy Point. Enjoyed crystal clear swimming in crystal clear waters. Also witnessed some more Western australia sunsets.
    After an amazing sunrise from our cap site, we are on the road heading north.    Leer más

    ONSLOW

    We finally went into Onslow. Not sure it was worth 200kms round tri. However, it was worth it to see the Anzac Memorial at sunrise. Had a nice dinner at the beach club and
    were looking forward to the silo "watertank" art, but it was fenced off with Tesspasses will be protected signs.... very strange as listed as a point of interest. able to see sun rise and set with beautiful moon rays.Leer más

    Eighty Mile Beach

    This is our 5th time here, but we have never understood why we enjoy it so much, However, when we drive down onto the beach or sit on the viewing platform to witness another sunset and talk to first timers who all say what an oasis this place is.
    We walk, we beachcmbe 5÷10km day and finish each day with an aged red and say goodbye to another beautiful day with a magnificent sunset. Bring on tomorrow. So that must be the reason we have kept coming back when in WA...    Leer más

    Spent last 3 weeks back Gnylamurang bush camp, which was the main reason we headed back over to the west. Certainly, didn't disappoint. Spent our time week walking beaches, swimming, fishing, beachcombing, reading, enjoying sundowners, and generally relaxing. Next to no telephone reception, no internet, no TV, which was refreshing but at times frustrating. (Especially when footy was on.)
    Will be sad to leave as we have sort of made a decision that this could possibly be our last trip over to WA.
    4 laps of Oz in the last 7 years. Now, it's time to downsize from 8 months away to maybe 3 months and get in some overseas trips as well.
    Still have another 4 months and looking forward to new adventures and discovering new places.    Leer más

    Anna Plains station

    Left Eighty Mile Beach with a bit of a tear in our eye, realizing this was probably our last visit.
    Continued north to another little fave, Anna Plains, which is a working cattle station on a little plot of land... just a million acres..... but still on the eighty mile beach.
    Spent 4 days beachcombing and trying our hand at beach fishing. Steve was the winner with a 66cm threadfin salmon. Unfortunately, there are no awards for his filleting skills. But it was his first attempt.
    Also enjoyed an afternoon at the artesian hot tub, which was out in the scrub. Fabulous... who needs a fancy spa. To top our stay off, 2 of the long termers came down while we were packing up with 2 bags of fillets. How special is that. Off to Broome to shop for next 3 weeks as completely off grid .    Leer más

    BROOME

    It's now omly a stopover for us to stock up on groceries as we find it a little bit touristy for us. However we went for an impromptu sunset and found out that the stairway to the moon was happening. It was like stepping into a crowded grand final day but so worth I.
    Came down to cable beach to witness another Broome sunset and were definitely not disappointed. Tomorrow heading north to Dampier Penininsular.    Leer más

    CYGNET BAY

    Great little CP, especially non powered sites. Great restaurant , good food with a happy hour and infinity pool. ( because of crocs)
    We booked the reef waterfall tour only to be told on arrival and set up that it had been cancelled due to potential inclement winds. Next morning ... quiet as not one gum leaf moving. We then went for a drive to the top of the Dampier Penininsular to One Arm Point aboriginal community. Every house had a second-hand caryard, one with a bonus pushbike smashed through the window.
    Now off to Broome to restock, recharge, refuel and rewater.    Leer más

    Fawewell WA, hello NT

    It was sad to leave WA. However, the memories of the places we visited will always remain with us.
    Our last stay was at Ngumban cliffs, which we love. before crossing over the border to continue our adventures through the NT.
    A couple of thousand kms later and a break in the weather from unseasonal rain. Our first ltouristy stop was Karlu Karlu - Devils Marbles, which was truly amazing. Pretty good night at the pub at Wauchope. Now off to Alice to explore the MacDonnell Ranges,
    Kings Canyon and Uluru.    Leer más

    DEVILS MARBLES

    SORRY bit late. we have been a bit tied up enjoying ourselves.
    Pulled into a free camp opposite the Devils Marbles Hotel in Warhope. A quaint little town consistsing of a pub. Was a chilly 2 degrees and pouring with rain. Brrrr.

    West Macdonald Ranges

    Finished our time in Alice and went back into the stunning West Macdonald Ranges.
    Once again, it didn't disappoint with lots of gorges and gaps to explore. Stayed at Ormiston Gorge, which was one of our favs. Now, it's off to Kings Canyon to explore what is believed to be one of Australia's wonders.Leer más

    KINGS CANYON

    Headed into Kings Canyon via the Red Centre Way, 140kms of Red dirt.....
    The Canyon certainly didn't disappoint.
    We climbed up it, walked around it, and treated ourselves to a chopper flight to take in its absolute grandeur.

    COOBER PEDY

    In a place where the town is so different and the people are so genuine. Coober Pedy has it all. A junkyard paradise of fortune and bust where we saw a family man trading chocolates to tourist kids for worthless opals they found in his mie.

    Lake Hart

    What a surprise
    a. To finally see some water and
    b. Free...
    The lake was quite full but still plenty of salt to scrunch along. It was so glassy you couldn't tell what was sky and what was lake. To top it off had a lovely sunset.
    Sat around a beaut fire with some Tassie travellers we met along the way. They were a lot more accustomed to the cold than the Osborne's.    Leer más

    FLEURIEU PENININSULAR

    Goolwa to Cape Jervis and everywhere in between. So picturesque and so different from what we have experienced over the last 4 months. The hills are like fingers that meet the ocean. Everywhere is lush and so green, but that is understandable as it has been constantly drizzling.
    We made Goolwa our base as it was the mouth of the Murray River from where we will continue our journey.    Leer más

    Murthoss Forrest Reserve

    Another taste of the Murray River. Enjoyed 2 days relaxing on the banks. Beautiful days but a tad chilly by night. Off to Mildura today to find a washing machine. Will also enjoy some power.

    Yet again another great camp on the Murray. It its amazing how much water flows down this mighty river. Truely the lifeblood of a huge area.
