Today we were anticipating a large ascent of 1755m over 16km but our stats were well over 2000m ascent and over 20km!
Thunderstorms were forecast but thankfully they seemed to move around us and we just received a few decent rainfalls and a gale force wind at the high pass. The rain made the very narrow steep path (often with a sheer drop below) very slippery and we had to concentrate on every single step. The decent was also challenging and after 11 hours we arrived at our mountain lodge where they took pity on us and 'upgraded' us to their only room with a private bathroom🙏 We both fell asleep within seconds after another lovely home-cooked meal.Read more
