We knew that today would be another big one (listed as 7.25 hours in guide book - more like 11 hours in reality) but we were totally cooked by 12.5 hours of steep slippery 2,000 metre ascent in hot conditions.
We had some magnificent views of the Swiss Alps in the distance and a mirror flat lake below the pass but absolutely no chance to stop and enjoy.
We received a lovely welcome at our small Hotel in Campello Monti and she could not believe we had walked that distance - much to our surprise she even said we looked 'fresca' !Read more
