First thing today was a trip to Charles Darwen centre to see the breeding centre for tortoises

After this a slow stroll past the fish market (and sea lions) to the pier

Boat ride to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno

Well this was an experience, a two minute trip on a small boat out to a speedboat then into the boat which seats 38 people in total. To be fair the seats are way better than an aeroplane and did recline a little.

Not much of a view when seated (thank god) but if I stood up a little I could see the sea nearly level with me at shoulder height !

Once out of port the four massive engines started to roar and the boat literally sped off at 45 degrees , I say literally because the next two hours were akin to being strapped in on the big dipper at Blackpool. I'm not sure if it can be classed as sailing for two hours but we hopped / bounced along and I'm sure at some stages we were airborne 🤣

Still arrived safely at our next island checked into yet another lovely hotel then out to explore San CristobalLæs mere

7am and a damp start, rained overnight and the cloud seems to have settled but it looks like it is blowing away so should be a good day 😘

A tour of quito old town and then flight

Well the plane was due to leave at 23:25 and I've now been sat on a plane for 2 and a half hours, taxied out and then came back with a small technical hitch that "should only be 20 minutes", then someone decided to provide some entertainment by being ill in the toilet, paramedics and doctor come on board, woman taken off, then her bags...but still we sit here while someone outside plays with the flaps.

Wouldn't be bad but the lass sat next to me got stuck at lima when a plane crashed and all flights cancelled so she had a 17 hour bus ride just to get to Cusco and then catch a flight to Bogata she says she's 2 days late going home.....I asked her nicely if she would like to catch another plane 🫣Læs mere

Final day in galapagos

Today I head back to Quito for one last night before heading home, it's been a really great break and I've seen some spectacular animals, birds and sea creatures all of which seem content to share their space with humans .Læs mere

Day 8 cretan brewery

Visit to the Cretan brewery where they make pure handcrafted beer only made with
wheat for white beer and barley for the dark.

There's no additives only
Water hops malt yeast
The hops are imported from Germany and the
Yeast imported from Belgium .

The site produces 800,000 litres per year

The Brewery only does draft beer to the region's taverns and they also send someone from brewery to clean pipes every 3 days, after 7 days the finings start to clear so beer is sent back to brewery, in all taverns beer is never older than 7 days.Læs mere
