  • In the land of giants 🌴

    March 19 in Colombia ☀️ 17 °C

    Tired, but happy 🤍

Today I had the chance to visit one of the most unique places on the planet - La Carbonera. It’s home to the tallest palm trees on Earth, the wax palms 🌴 They are the only palms, which grow so high up in the mountains.

So happy to meet new people and share these moments together.
And those breathtaking views… they make me feel truly alive.

Feeling grateful, fulfilled, and so lucky to explore 🤍

P.S Ride standing on the back of a jeep in this extreme roads was the perfect wake-up call for my badass energy. ⚡️

  • Arriving to Amazonas

    March 22 in Colombia ⛅ 34 °C

Leticia welcomed with a rush of heat and humidity, the kind that stick to your skin and smells like adventure ahead. It was only the beginning of our never-dry journey into the jungle 😅

I couldn’t help but wonder if we would lose a bag or two along the hour long ride to Mocagua on a speeding boat, with our luggage strapped on top.

Colombia wasted no time showing its wild side 🌿✨ I was already craving more!

  • Mocagua

    March 22 in Colombia ⛅ 35 °C

Arriving to Mocagua felt like stepping into a completely different world. A small indigenous village deep in the Amazon, here life follows the rhythm of the river and the jungle.

For the next 4 days, we were welcomed into a local family home of Teresa and Barto, not as guests, but as part of their everyday life. Sharing meals, stories, knowledge and memories.

No luxury, no rush, just nature, community, and a different way of living.

  • Venturing deep into the jungle

    March 23 in Colombia ⛅ 29 °C

We had barely settled in Mocagua, and we were already off with Barto and Teresa to venture deep into the jungle. We were going to spend the night in a jungle shelter about an hour’s boat ride from the community.

In just one day, the jungle gave us so many first experiences:

✅ swimming in the Amazon River
✅ trying exotic fruits straight from the forest
    ✅ sleeping in hammocks
✅ getting caught in a tropical rainstorm for 20 minutes
✅ cooking local food wrapped in banana leaves
    ✅ fishing for piranhas
✅ watching a curious family of wild monkeys
✅ and even overcoming our fear of touching small jungle creatures

And this was only the beginning of our Amazon adventure.

  • Night in the jungle

    March 23 in Colombia ⛅ 33 °C

Barto said he had a surprise for us.

We left the house with only two red headlamps, rubber boots, and curiosity. The jungle at night makes you listen, watch, and feel everything differently.

After a few meters Barto stopped and pointed his machete at a hole in the ground.
“Tarantula bebé,” he said. Three little ones… and then I saw her - mama Tarantula. My heart was racing like in that Harry Potter scene with the spiders.

Later we drifted silently down the Amazon on the boat. No motor, no lights. Just Barto and Teresa paddling slowly through the dark jungle.

Above us the sky was full of stars, the Milky Way and Luna shining bright. Along the riverbanks tiny luminescent worms were glowing in the sand.

    It felt unreal.
In that moment I felt like I had seen a secret world…

The night kept unfolding with many more moments, each one worth remembering.
