  • Travel Day

    September 5, 2025 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

Today, I drove across the island from Aleghero to Cala Gonone. This was the wildest drive I have ever done, and when i thought it could not get any wilder I started my descent into Cala Gonone wow insane I had no opportunities to take photos as it took all my attention just to stay on the roads . Once I finally arrived and found my hotel there was no parking. i had to put my car a 30 min walk outside of town .
When I asked the hotel where I was to park, they'd just said, "Find white lines that are free blue you pay ."So off i go back up the hill to get my car, and I found a spot. I'm the black Peugeot pretty proud of myself.

  • Cala Gonone

    September 5, 2025 in Italy ⋅ 🌙 24 °C

Cala Gonone is a very pretty port town. Thousands of people come daily to get on all different types of boats from big steel ships that can carry couple hundred to inflatable dinghies in every size. I thought it would spend 6 days here but I decided 4 was more than enough my first full day I wondered around and spent time on the beach like every beach I have seen the water is clear but the sand is different little pebbles including pieces of quarts. Saturdsy night, about 40 men dressed in traditional dress entertained us in the street it was very different they wore furs, head dress, and bells, lots of bells . Mamuthones, very interestingRead more

There were only 12 people on the boat so it was a very nice day. I sat with newly weds from Australia and was a nice treat to have English speaking. They were both into the water as much as I am, so we had a great day .Stops we made were Cala Gorloritze ,Cala dei Gabniani ,Piscine di Venere, which they claimed prettiest beach in whole Med Cala Sinine Cala Luna and Grotte del Marino it was a perfect dayRead more

  • San Teodoro

    September 9, 2025 in Italy

It's time to leave Cala Gonone. i wanted to check out another famous beach on my way to spend some time in the city. The drive up and out of Cala Gonone was just as insane as drive in then my GPS had me on some crazy one lane road along the coast I got off that road as soon as I could find a place to turn around . Once back on a normal hwy, the drive was beautiful, and San Teodoro did not disappoint
This was the biggest beach I visited on the island . There was a huge parking lot very easy to access and lots of chair rentals and bars and restaurants. I could have easily spent a lot of time here
The meddetrian version of imperwash but white power sand shallow clear salt water. It stared out a little cloudy, but the sun came out it was beautiful.

  • Olbia

    September 10, 2025 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Decided to spend my last two nights in the city close to the airport. I booked a all day boat trip to see La Maddalena Island and surrounding areas. i was really excited I could fit one more boat trip in, but unfortunately, the weather took a turn, and they canceled the tour. So, instead, I just took advantage of strolling the city center and walking the waterfront parks. Nice dinners out with great local wine 🍷 nice end to a great tripRead more
