Herculanium

We first learnt of this historical place whilst at infant school and we have both waited many years to visit and it was definitely worth it.
An amazing historical site that provokes many thoughts and emotions as you learn about the lives of the people who lived here and about what they were doing in the moments before they died.
Some of the timber, including bed frames and staircases is preserved and visible nearly 2000 years after being buried. There are also paintings still on the walls and many mosaic floors completely intact.
