    1 Aralık 2023, İngiltere ⋅ 🌨 0 °C

6 months ago we decided to go to Spain for a couple of weeks during winter. In the last 6 months John has finished full time work and started freelancing and Benji has shut shop for the winter and we’re heading off to Europe for 3 months to explore. Quite a change from the original plan.Okumaya devam et

  • Troyes

    3 Aralık 2023, Fransa ⋅ ☁️ 2 °C

Spent most of the day in Troyes, Champagne today, it's got a beautiful town centre with some really amazing churches and cathedrals. They have Xmas decorations everywhere and even music playing through the whole town! Couldn't have asked for a nicer day, except that no one here seems to know what vegetarian or vegan means! Everything has bloody ham in it! Haha
We've got a lovely little pitch tonight, electric hookup and a level site so we're warm and happy right now! 😊

  • Baraluc des Bain

    6 Aralık 2023, Fransa ⋅ ☀️ 12 °C

After a bit of messing around trying to find a parking spot we've ended up in the small town of Baraluc des Bain. Nice little place though it felt like we weren't there at the right time of year!
Had a nice walk along the promenade, bought some bread and now we're off to the next spot!Okumaya devam et

  • Marseille

    9 Aralık 2023, Fransa ⋅ ☁️ 10 °C

Spent some time in marseille today, what a beautiful city!
Definitely got our cardio in today with all those bloody hills but was worth it for the views and the food!
Was a fleeting trip at best cos it was impossible to find anywhere to park the van for the night so we're heading off along the coast in the direction of Spain.
We've decided to head south in general to enjoy some of the temperatures that have been taunting us on the weather apps!

  • Nearly in Spain! 🇪🇸

    10 Aralık 2023, Fransa ⋅ ☁️ 12 °C

We've stopped for the night not far from the Spanish border in a beautiful area, sadly it was getting too dark to take many photos but I'm sure they'll be time in the morning.
Once we've packed up in the morning we'll head down further across the pyrenees which promises to be quite spectacular and it's warmer day by day, lows of 11° tonight! Wohoo!Okumaya devam et

  • Tossa del Mar

    15 Aralık 2023, Ispanya ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

We spent a night in Tossa del Mar, where we had questionable "German pizza." the next day, we found the Roman Villa Ametllers de Tossa, complete with mosaics and underfloor heating.

  • Gorafe Dolmens

    22 Aralık 2023, Ispanya ⋅ ☀️ 15 °C

Today, we visited a valley full of over 300 Dolmens (ancient burial chambers c. 3,500 B.C.). It's amazing to see civilisation has been here for thousands of years. We then drove down the steep roads into the valley and saw some dwellings built into the rock.Okumaya devam et

  • Gibraltar

    30 Ara–1 Oca 2024, Cebelitarık

Gibraltar is an extraordinary feature of the landscape. It's a shame the experience there doesn't quite match. We had a lovely-ish walk through the national park where we saw the Macaques. Unfortunately you can't explore much of the rock as the MOD has fenced a lot of it off. It was also strange walking across the runway of Gibraltar Airport to get to the city.Okumaya devam et

  • El Castillo de las Guardas

    6 Ocak 2024, Ispanya ⋅ ☁️ 13 °C

Went inland for a few days and found a lovely little town in the mountains. The next day we were woken up by a brass "band" and carnival to celebrate the day the three kings handed out sweets to children from the back of their fancy cars. The Fiesta de los Tres Reyes. Not sure why Spongebob was there and don't know if it was necessary to "black up" for the occasion... but they did!!Okumaya devam et

  • Jerez de los Caballeros

    8–9 Oca 2024, Ispanya ⋅ ☁️ 12 °C

What an amazing town. Most of it is behind the Medieval City walls; the original walls and even the amphitheatre still exist. One of the most beautiful places we've been to yet. We explored in the evening when we arrived and after Benji had taken the dashboard apart. Then again, we walked around the town the next day some more.Okumaya devam et

  • Ameixial

    13–15 Oca 2024, Portekiz ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

Yesterday, we arrived in Ameixial, a small village, on our way north up through the countryside on our way to Lisbon. We had a lovely walk in the hills near the campsite, and our Dutch neighbours donated some sourdough starter so we can start baking soon.Okumaya devam et
