Camooweal QLD

Arrive here after travelling on 150km on gravel road - all went well, though Roger has discovered the Anderson plug that got 'ripped off' along the Birdsville Track has 'ripped off' again - he'll be straight onto fixing it when we get to camp. While in Camooweal Roger does caravan 'house keeping', empties our 'shitter' (his words), reinflates tyres (deflated for rough gravel road travel) and refills our water tanks. I make our lunch, cold meat and salad sandwich for Rog, open savoury toasties for me - with our cuppas. Have a bit of a look around before driving to get fuel. Next we go to the Camooweal Hotel to have a coldie and suss out what we'll do next. Roger mentions travelling on to Barkly Homestead (200km bitumen), but we decide to check out Camooweal's free camping first. Glad we do this - decide to stay tonight.Read more
