Daly Waters Pub Caravan Park

Arrived and got fuel, as Roger paid for this, he booked an unpowered site for tonight $28.
Get directed to where we can park, and we quickly set up, as not putting out the awning or unhitching. I get changed and 'freshen up' and we head to the pub as happy hour goes from 4pm to 6pm - with $6 beers. What a terrific place and set up. So much to look at and enjoy! We order the Beef & Barra meals $38.50 each - full beef for me, 1/2 beef and 1/2 barramundi for Roger. While sitting listening to the live music Drew Blundell (really good) we got a beaut surprise - we reckonised Bill and Trina, from Dunkeld! They came and sat with us until our meals arrived (their takeaway pizza came along at the same time). They're here for 2 nights (on the 2nd tonight) visiting a grandson who is working on a nearby property/station. Trina is dealing with a broken arm (fell while on a hike) that happened on this holiday while they were in Cairns visiting their daughter. They're about to fly back to Melbourne to go home.
After we finished our terrific meals - served with salads you helped yourself to from a servery, we stayed and listened to Drew for a while. Then headed back to our caravan for the night. Roger goes and has a shower, I catch up on our budgeting books so I know how our finances are travelling too. My only concern today is I've 'lost' my caravan key - I feel I've probably dropped it at Three Ways Roadhouse today. I have rang them, but no key has been handed in (yet). Going to bed to read for a while.
Saturday morning sees us both get up to go for a dunk in the Daly Waters Pub pools at 7am - we only went in the one with the spa joined to it as the other lap pool had bubbles in it (staff looking after it felt kids must of been using bubble mixture in it yesterday). What a great way to start the day! We were the only ones using the pool at this time. so great to do my laps in total relaxation. Rog left earlier than I to start getting breakfast happening. I have my shower on the way back to the caravan. Then breakfast time with Rog. Now we get the caravan sorted and tidy, ready to leave, before we go for a walk tgether to check over the pub and surrounds before we go. For fun, get a polariod photo taken by a staff member to leave stuck up in the pub - just a charity donation (into charity container on the bar) required for this. Then walk around outside for a check out before we go. Drive away around 10.15am.Baca lagi
