Check in at the office, which offers basic supplies and a good book swap library - very good! We decide to book for 2 nights - told just as well that's all we are after as they're booked out for the weekend after that! With G'day discount $40 per night with power. We're allocated site 9 which is nicely located near the amenities and camp kitchen. Settle in, then we discuss going to a nearby music festival. "Yellowfields" at Nabawa for the coming weekend. Turns out that we're too late to get camping for it (all sold out at this late stage) - so that gets me thinking as to trying our luck for last minute volunteering for this event. We send off an email enquiry - our luck's in, they're happy to have us! Now go for a stroll about the place. Check out the Jetty and General Store - where we buy a 'cleanskin' Margaret River Cab Sauv for $10. Back at our van we prepare sandwiches that we take to the camp kitchen and toast in their toaster maker for our lunch. Now just relax for the afternoon at camp - reading and wandering about. Tea tonight, Roger cooks up a savoury mince in the camp kitchen which we follow up with some fresh fruit salad. Tidy up, Roger has a shower (says the showers made for shorties but the pressure etc good). Relax before bed.
13/11/24 Wednesday. Roger's up around 7am, I stay in bed reading for a while, but get up once I realise Rog is all organised to cook up bacon and eggs etc at the camp kitchen. This is again so yummy - toast, chutney, avocado, tomato with cooked bacon, eggs and mushrooms topped with marinated goats cheese ❤️ We definitely feel the need for a walk after tidy up and doing dishes. Enjoy a walk along the beach and into town. Such a lovely little seaside spot. Next we go for a drive around the area.
We get back before midday, relax for a while before having lunch. Roger has a toasted sandwich, I have cheese and biscuits, we both have some fruit. Now relaxing again for the afternoon - we read, Roger does some maintenance work on our gear, and we have a nice time chatting with our 'new' neighbours - as a caravanning group starts to arrive for their weekend get together. We end up having our tea, reheated leftover savoury mince with microwaved potatoes, over in the camp kitchen with the early birds of this group. Such a great group - there we be about 80 people for this group by Saturday night for their mid year 'Christmas theme' get together - what fun they'll have! We head back to our van to tidy up, Roger showers and we relax before bed.
14/11/24 Thursday. Wake up around 6.30am. Roger's up and getting prepared to make pancakes with chopped up fresh fruit. I find a recipe for pancakes with the Thermomix, Roger makes it up while I go for a shower. Join Roger at the camp kitchen for our breakfast - very nice pancakes. We tidy up and get ready to leave - saying goodbyes to nice folk we meet here. Driving away from this caravan park just after 8am.
We're heading to Northampton again - we'll stop for another grocery shop, and I stock up on bubbles (3 bottles) when I find the IGA Liquor has some good specials. Czytaj więcej
