Pelican feeding Kalbarri

This is beside the foreshore - opposite our caravan park. It's held everyday 8.45am to 9.15am. Ran now by volunteers, who request a gold coin donation to help cover food costs (for feeding). It has been happening for almost 50 years now - started by a fisherman living nearby. It's for wild pelicans - so totally at their discretion as to whether they come or not. Can be days where none show up. We're in luck, at least 7 come along today.
Rog and I were happy just to learn about and watch today. People are welcome to feed the fish supplied to them - we just didn't come prepared to get 'fishy smell' on us lol!Læs mere
