Mile Zero on the Hadrian's Wall Path. This is where the Romans stopped building their wall, 1,150 miles from home and 84 from Wallsend in the East.

Roger is an awesome guy. He made the only signpost in the world to feature both Bowness and Wallsend and uses it to raise money for cancer research.

Mile 13: Carlisle Castle

Before the Hardest Section

We've finished Lanercost to Walltown Quarry and are about to start the hardest section of the wall to the Twice Brewed Inn. Lots of visible wall and old pele tower buildings on route so far.

Chesters Roman Fort

I think this is the largest remaining Roman stables on the route or in the UK. Anyway, it's where we finished walking today!
Corbridge

We slept in Corbridge, a little way off the route but with excellent B&Bs and a few shops to buy essential provisions for the last day walking through countryside. Our B&B, the Pear Tree, was amazing!Lue lisää
