  • Broken Hill

    After 1100 KLM stop over at Walgett 39 degrees when we arrived needed powered site for air con, Up and onto Cobar, nice little mining town .

    Got out and done the street walk after shops were closed, Lucky.

    Big drive almost 500 KLM to get to Broken Hill. This is our official starting point for the trip.

    This arvo we went to the sculptures for sunset.

    Day 2 we did the walk of Broken Hill CBD , then out to Silverton. Some pub grub Madmax museum was closed so we spent some time at the Goal heritage museum, best collection of historical society I have seen.

  • Port Augusta

    Arrived yesterday, information centre and some planning for a trip around the Eyre Peninsula.

    Kel had a hit of golf at sunrise, completely hopeless. Followed by the best of camp cooked omelette .

    Ice cream lunch at the Arid lands gardens.

  • Whyalla

    Here for 3 days, getting car serviced. The steel refinery tour starts next week so we won't get that done.

    We went to a private Elvis Presley museum ,Peter is so passionate about his collection. We spent hours there.

    Drove to point Lowrey lighthouse and then the beach track along cuttlefish bay where the giants gather to spawn in May.

    Finally Kel went Blue swimmers crab 🦀 hunting on the sand flats directly in front of our caravan foreshore site.

    Of course a hit of golf, better play today.

    Called into Redbank before we had lunch at the pub "catch of the day" glass of sav blanc while overlooking the foreshore and Jetty. Nice.

    Then down to he road to a beach camp at Carrow Wells. Ocean views, beach walks.Read more

  • Drive to Port Lincoln

    Today we checked out Tumby Bay. We arrived on the biggest day on the calendar. "Paint Tumby Bay" . Local artists paint buildings.

    Had a cuppa at Redbanks. Just have to get off the highway down the gravel roads to the coastline. Awesome.

  • Lincoln National Park

    Lincoln National Park overlooks Boston Bay, the largest natural harbour in Australia, with granite headlands, sheltered bays and scenic offshore islands.

    We explored and found great camping spots. Surfleet cove and September beach were the pick of them.

    A brisk walk up Stamford Hill to Flinders monument overlooking Port Lincoln and Boston bay.

    We promise ourselves to camp out on the Jussieu Peninsula when we return.

  • Day trip to Cummins

    120 KLM round trip to this Wheat farming town. The highlight is the mosaics in the rest room, and the Wheat lumper statue at the railway triangle Park.

    A Wheat lumper would carry 50 kg bags of grain, they stacked them up to 16 high for transportation.

    The trip from Lincoln through the rolling hills of Wheat and Canola fields was great.

    The coffee was nice the bakery was simple.

  • Coffin Bay NP

    Known for its remote coastal scenery, the bays and coastline around the Coffin We explored the park's coastal landscapes of high windswept cliffs and massive dunes, pounding surf beaches and sheltered sandy bays.

    The sand dunes of Almonta beach we massive. Great camp site Yangie bay.

    Quite overcast today so the colours are not as vibrant, we had to imagine.

    Long White sandy beaches, pounding surf, sand drift and cliff edges a campsite. Truly a wonderful world.

    Our breakfast stop on the way to Venus bay, was interrupted by a small pod of dolphins.

    Tranquil bay, and wind swept cliffs, are the features of this cosy fishing village.

  • Streaky Bay

    A short drive from Venus bay was the rock formations called Murphy's haystacks. We checked them out on the way to Streaky.

    A 4 night stay, got a prime site right on the beach at Island tourist Park.

    Pub grub night Oyster Kilpatrick with views.

    Overnight stay, prepping for the Nullarbor.

    Kel started to play the Nullarbor links. hole 1 par 5 had a 8 hole 2 par 4 had a 5. So 4 over already. Of course Joanne is having a hit along the way.

    The Nullarbor links challenge continue s Kel got a bogey at the Windmills. The fairway had a row of trees across it at the 150 m mark and the green was circled by trees.

    Had a detour to look at lake MacDonnell a pink lake.

  • Mundara pass ridge lookout WA

    After a spectacular sunrise, left Bunda cliffs and headed west we had another stop on the cliffs for smoko.
    We took a detour 10 KLM from the WA border know as 10k peg, this is where the coastline are sand dunes and beaches again. Such a contrast.

    A successful border inspection for Covid and bio security, no dramas. Hello WA.

    Kel played a couple of par 3 today on the drive and bag bogeys.

    Tonight we rest overlooking the plateau at Mundra, cannot see the ocean first time in weeks.

  • Esperance

    Arrived, from here we will explore Cape Le Grand. We did the ocean drive along the coastline to west.

    Kel played golf it was good to play on grass again, especially after the holes on the Nullarbor links. The Swans took flight on the sixth.

    Joanne got into the local yoga scene, and we did some dinning out.

    Day 1 we went to Hellfire Bay. We did the walk across to Little Hellfire bay.

    The wild flowers were out. The sky was clear and we even got in for a swim sort of bit chilly.
