• 5/8 San Cristobal

We left the hostel at 6am for our flight to the first Galapagos island of our trip. Thankfully our friend Jon who we met in the Amazon warned us about the fun red tape we would have to navigate to get to the Galapagos. We started with a long line to get our $20 TCT permits, then had our bags scanned and checked our baggage in. The flight to Guayaquil was quick and easy, then we had to sit on the tarmac for 40 minutes while they refuelled. Upon landing in San Cristobal the airline staff walked up and down spraying all the overhead baggage with some kind of disinfectant, felt a bit like we were in quarantine. Then of course we had to pay $200 before we left the airport 🤑 We finally collected our checked baggage after the bueno perrito sniffed them and made sure we hadn’t snuck in anything naughty, and after a $2.50 taxi ride later we were at our hotel! We were very surprised when we found out just how common sea lions are on this island, they’re everywhere 😍 Enjoyed a chill afternoon at Playa Mann and enjoyed some nice sunset cocktails before heading back to our accom to cook dinner.Read more
