Capital Reef NP: Cathedral Valley

A trip up the Hartnet Road leads to the Bentonite Hills and on to two valleys with beautiful rock formations. We made our way up to the campsite, grabbed a spot, and then hiked back to the Upper South Desert and Upper Cathedral Valley overlooks. Back at the campsite we met Libby, a bike packer who we invited to share our campsite, making a new friend and paying forward trail kindness. An evening hike on the Cathedrals Trail, but just a little too late for the light, and an early morning start to see the Temple of the Sun and Moon.
