Morrison's Huon Pine Sawmill

Probably one of the highlights of the trip was to visit the Morrison's Huon Pine Sawmill. It is the longest running and only remaining Huon Pine sawmills still in operation. It is here we got to see the traditional practice of milling the Huon pine logs, felled as many as 60 years ago. It has been operated and continues to be operated by the same family using traditional timber milling practices and machinery. I may have spent a "bit" of money on some Tasmanian timbers I can take home to use in my craft.
After this we got some groceries and headed back to our accommodation for an easier and more relaxing day tomorrow.Leia mais
