    Wilderness West Coast Railway

    Today we were up really early to make the 1 hour drive from Strahan to Queenstown to get the Wilderness West Coast Railway half day rail ride. The train is an old steam engine used in the late 19th Century to transport, among other things, Copper from the Queenstown mines to Strahan.
    The first part of the run involves a stop at Lynch's Creek, where we were able to try our hand at gold panning.

    TravelerThe locals were saying it is the hottest day they have had all season. Got to 28°. It was a stunning day. Only one of the people on the whole train found some gold. More the experience than anything else. Plenty of copper.
