Spent 5 days exploring Barcelona and close by Montserrat. Why did we tack Spain onto our anniversary trip to Italy? The wine. We love Spanish wine. Barcelona was a pretty modern city with some very beautiful churches. It was easy to get around by foot or taxi although riding in a taxi can create anxiety and your life flashing before your eyes. The Gothic district was a great place to walk around and step inside different café, galleries and bars. A highlight bar was Bar Marsella, the be bar Hemingway sat, drank Absinthe and wrote couple novels.
Montserrat was beautiful, the ride up was not tough but once there, expect a lot of walking. Just a visually beautiful place.Read more
