    Eilat to Jordan

    March 8, 2023 in Israel ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

We stayed one night in beautiful Eilat off the gulf of the Red Sea. This may have been the waters God parted for the Israelites to escape from the Egyptians but, again, lots of differing opinions on that. However, this seems to be a big vacationing spot for people with the sea, mountains, coral reef, etc. We didn't stay long but Talia's cat count was added to significantly - 62 cats on this trip so far 😅
The next morning we got on a bus for the transport to Wadi Rum in Jordan. Apparently it is a place where Moses struck the rock for water. It was so surreal to see and hear about the current life style of the Bedouins/Jordanians even in modern day. Lots of tents for houses, camels (because they are worth something), and the more permanent homes didn't have windows and doors mostly.... of which, our your guide told us the people don't put windows and doors on because once they do it's considered taxable because you've finished construction. So the people say they are going to finish someday just not enough money or resources yet. So they live in pretty crude structures. The legal marrying age is 13 still 😫. However, they were all extremely kind and friendly people!
On this tour we met new friends, shared the gospel, were encouraged by other believers and saw some of the most incredible structures both natural and chiseled by man.
