Handed the car back at the airport this morning. Gerard, the car hire rep, was amused by our mirror fix, especially as the electric adjustment still works. Toyota tough!
He also mentioned that our 'favourite' bit of road catches people out and they go too slow and get bogged or two fast and break things. We saw one rental bakkie stuck in a patch of sand. They were jacking the back up. Either bogged or threw a tyre by running the tyre pressure too low.
Maun is a very small airport, international or not, but we managed to get some Okavango Gin duty free. No duty free shop, but Okavango Gin had a stall there. It's infused with Mopane seed extract. Very nice. Not strongly flavoured. Crisp and dry.
Some guy was having a grump because he couldn't get a coffee.
Our flight went via Ndola in Zambia so we can technically claim to have been there now 😀
Currently sitting in the quite large airport at Addis Ababa again. Have been unable to get a decent look at the city, but it seems pretty big and modern with apartment blocks etc. Looks very hilly.
Just took our anti malaria tablets. Ugh. We were fine on them last time, but this time not so lucky.
Two hour wait for our flight to Singapore. Be midnight before we get airborne. Hopefully get some sleep.
Then a few hours in Singapore, then home at some ungodly hour.
