Gili Air - a tiny beautiful island

Today we took the boat from Nusa Penida to Gili Air. The trip took a little longer than we thought! At first the driver, who was supposed to pick us up at the hotel, didn't show up. It turned out that there was a mix-up with the address. Finally problem solved we arrived at the port. The boat started 45 minutes later than planned. On board we figured out, we will first head to Bali. There we had to get off the boat with our luggage and go to the tour office again to check in and then back to the pier to take another boat towards the Gili Islands and Lombok 45 minutes later. By then it was already 1:45 pm. By boat it took another 2 hours before we reached the first Gili Island (Trawangan). Finally on Gili Air it was already 4:30 pm. Only one and a half kilometers of walking to the other end of the island and we arrived at our hotel. It's right at the beach - very nice - but it's quite outdated and the rooms are dirty and come with some animals 😔 - a bit different than the description and the photos when we booked it. (Unfortunately we notice this lack of transparency in this country a lot so far). Let's see how the first night will be! 😊
The island "Gili Air" is soooo beautiful and the people are very nice so far. Quite different from the previous Indonesians - more relaxed and friendly. Don't misunderstand, there were other friendly ones, too, but most of them had the ulterior motive to take money out of your pocket. This gives you a less nice feeling unfortunately.
All restaurants and boutiques here are really stylish and cute - the very best: no cars or scooters 👌🏼🏝.

Heute ging es mit dem Boot von Nusa Penida nach Gili Air. Der Trip hat sich etwas länger gezogen als gedacht! Zunächst kam der Fahrer, der uns vom Hotel abholen sollte, nicht. Es stellte sich heraus, das es eine Verwechslung mit der Adresse gab. Schließlich das Problem gelöst und am Hafen angekommen, ging das Boot eine Dreiviertelstunde später als geplant los. Endlich an Board fuhren wir zunächst nach Bali. Dort mussten wir runter vom Boot, mit Gepäck erneut zum Tourenbüro einchecke und dann wiederum zurück zum Steeg, um ein neues Boot eine Dreiviertelstunde später Richtung Gili Inseln und Lombok zu nehmen. Dann war es bereits 13:45. Es dauerte erneut 2 Stunden ehe wir die erste Gili Insel (Trawangan) erreichten. Endlich auf Gili Air waren wir erst gegen 16.30 Uhr. Nur noch eineinhalb Kilometer as andere Ende der Insel laufen und wir kamen am Hotel an. Es liegt direkt am Strand - Sau geil - ist allerdings ziemlich veraltet und die Räume dreckig und mit ein paar Tierchen 😔 - ein bissche anders als die Beschreibung und die Fotos. (Leider fällt uns diese mangelnde transparenz in diesem Land bisher verstärkt auf). Mal sehen wie die erste Nacht wird! 😊
Die Insel „Gili Air“ ist soooo schön und die Menschen sind bisher sehr sehr nett. Ganz anders als die bisherigen Indonesier - entspannter und freundlicher. Nicht falsch verstehen, es gab auch andere freundliche, jedoch hatten die meistens den Hintergedanken dir Geld aus der Tasche zu ziehen. Was einem ein weniger schönes Gefühl gab.
Alle Restaurants und Boutiquen hier sind echt stilvoll und süß - das allerbeste: keine Autos oder Roller 👌🏼🏝.
