• Good vibes only in Shimla

    13. november 2024, Indien ⋅ ☀️ 11 °C

Had a very early start today in Delhi. Taxi pick up at 4:30 a.m., flight to Shimla 7:05. But everything went super smoothly, including gorgeous sunshiny weather after leaving the city fog behind us.

In Shimla I started the day with a visit at Kali Bari Tempel where I was surprised by upwelling tears, which I interpreted as letting go of something old, opening for transformation of useless patterns of the past to make room for whatever new wants to sprout🌱. A trickster monkey made me laugh as he tried to steal from the offerings for the deity and poured over the red colour for the blessing in his attempt when the temple guard shooed him away.

Then a stroll through Mall Road and along the famous Ridge visiting the Christ Church there, before heading up for Jakhu Tempel of Lord Hanuman at 2455m. On my way up I was interviewed and filmed by a group of 15 year old girl students from Punjab on their school trip.
Then Siddhartha came along overhearing me coming from Austria and enrolling me in a multitopic philosophical conservation which was to be continued all the way up, through chai, back down and into a most delicious local lunch of Mandyali Dham Thali lunch. Such a wonderful encounter, spiced with helpful tips for my onward journey!

Topped the day off with a visit at the State Museum and local stuffed potato patties, tikkis, for supper on my way home.

Everything felt easier in this smaller, cooler and beautiful mountainous city today 😇

On a side note: I walked over 16,5 km and more than 500 vertical meters today on my stroll through Shimla 😉
