What a beautiful town! Just under 19,000 people, Le Puy contains much more than one would think going by the population. We stayed the entire weekend so we could recover from jet lag, and have some time to soak in the cuteness of the town. On Saturday we went to the Cathedral of Notre Dame and checked out the Pilgrim welcome center. Then we walked 600 steps up to the church of Saint Michaels, which was built in 961 at the Apex of a volcanic spire. On Sunday, we took it very easy, just strolling around town to see the sites, preparing to start what is said to be a very difficult Camino on Monday.Read more
