  • Tintinara to Gawler

    July 15, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 13 °C

Left Tintinara this morning 🌄 heading for Wirra Camp-site for more free camping 🏕. We finally arrived there only to find the gates locked and no explanations in the offing... what a crappy way to run a public resource! It was decided that we just go and hit Gawler Caravan Park 🚐 for a 2 night stay while we explore a deserted town, a pit stop at the Gungellan Hotel for a beer and a photo opportunity (McClouds Daughters) and even a trip into Adelaide itself.Read more

  • Wannon to Mt. Gambier

    July 12, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

After a leisurely drive that included a lunch stop at Casterton, we rocked into Mt Gambier in the early afternoon. • Mt. Franklin - Hamilton

Got in, settled the vans and swags, and then started on building a campfire 🔥 whilst the ladies shuttled all the kids 10 minutes back to Hamilton to grab an early dinner of KFC and McDonalds. Tea over, and the rain started to settle in, so all the kid's swags were moved to under the gazebo for cover.Read more

    July 9, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 10 °C

Met up with Mel, Aaliah n Emily plus Tyff, Sophie, Amber and Coco at Kilmore on the way to Hamilton. Lunch at McDonalds was a disaster - 1/2 hour to get 4 burgers and chips 🍟. I had to go to the counter just to chase them up with the shift manager...
Our ETA was then 7.30pm. Too late to travel thru, then set up, so we settled on Mt Franklin. Set up was finished, Ann tried to light the fire 🔥 10 litres of fuel went up, and 2 fire blankets and 2 extinguishers later, the fire was under control...
