The oasis Khaibar

As we travel north, we pass through the oasis Khaibar in a basin of a huge volcanic area with ample water and fertile soils. For thousands of years this has been a stop on the frankincense route bringing the latter together with silk and spices to Europe. Today, the abandoned ancient mud city built on 6 hills surrounding the oasis is a very high-end tourist venue with hundreds of employees and few tourists but we had a great time being driven around in a golf cart, with an excellent restaurant to go with it.Meer informatie
