  • Hard Day In The Office

    August 13, 2023 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

After a really early start from the back of the Petone Workingmens Club, to the Picton ferry that left 75minutes late , drove through to heavy rain after passing Kaikoura, to gas bottle fills, water tank fill and waste water and black water dump in Blenheim, it was a long long day. Never the less, we arrived at our appointed stopover 15minutes behind schedule... well done Waymaker.
We had a chance to talk "Jesus" with fellow motorhomers, over dinner at the club... awesome.
Today is sunny and warm... bring on spring.

  • Change of Plans

    August 18, 2023 in New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 13 °C

This weekend was to be a Friday stop at Waitara to visit an Air NZ work colleague then off to Twizel on Saturday for Sunday Service at the Community Church.... I received a call on Friday from Ps Steve of the Twizel Church to say most of his congregation plus many in the town have covid and he was needing to cancel Sunday service... thus we stayed on at Waitara... a beautiful and very well appointed town. After Sundays service we drove on down the coast to view the seals at Shag Point.. totally awesome, and are now parked up at the Ardleigh Golf Club for the night.Read more

After overnighting in Owaka we headed off into the Caitlins. The home of wonderful waterfalls, beautiful bush walks, majestic rimu bush, and magnificent views.
Tonight's stop will be at Haldane Bay at a Pop Over Site. It is right on the waters edge and I am sure it will be peaceful. Today's lunch site is overlooking the rocks and the South Pacific Ocean... awesome!!Read more

  • 52nd Anniversary while in Gore

    August 23, 2023 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 10 °C

We have done so much in a week. God gave us a chance to encourage the owner of a shop in Tokonui. Her church was full of Spirit but not growing. Then that night we had the opportunity to contribute to the local cancer auction.. it raised $18,000 from a very small community.. wow!!
We have walked to many waterfalls along the Caitlins, to many cliffs, plus met Harry, a wonderful man who allows motorhomes to stay on his beach property. He even blessed us with fresh veges from his glasshouse, and took us for a hair raising spin in his dune buggy to the ocean cliffs.
Yesterday we attended a wonderful church in Gore that after the refreshments after what we thought was the end of the service came back together for more prayer, praise, preaching, and finally communion. You really felt like you had been to "church!"
Today is a quiet day before heading off to Cromwell, and then onto Athol on Thursday.

  • It's Like Coming Home

    August 27, 2023 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 5 °C

We are back overlooking the Kawerau River at Cromwell... it is like being back home.. except Bryan and Moana aren't with us this time!!
Although there is snow on the hills all around us it isn't as cold here as it was the last time.
Last night was a night of witnessing Jesus to a couple who pulled in beside us.
Sam's mother used to play the organ at a Baptist Church when she was a girl... but has married and moved away. Both her and Ian allowed the seed to be watered, now we expect a harvest.
Thursday we meet up with Sue and Carl in Queenstown and get the keys for the church and then move onto Athol.

  • Settling into Athol

    September 6, 2023 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 6 °C

We have now been on site for five full days at the Prayer Centre in Athol and already we have had cars pull up with people to visit or to prayer, locals coming by for a chat and to pray, plus a local congregation who used it for a Spring Festival Service. Totally awesome!!
The weather has been lovely and sunny, and together with the spring flowers, spring foliage and the snow on the hills around us... it is a totally beautiful sight.
Carl and Sue van Schreven, who bought the old CofE Church, stepped out in faith, and already we see it in action.
Living in Waymaker near the main highway has not caused a problem as everyone here seems to go to bed by 8pm and the highway is totally quiet after that!

  • Our Feet Are On The Ground

    October 1, 2023 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 14 °C

What a busy three weeks we have had at the Athol Prayer and Praise Centre. Every day we have had people stopping for prayer, some have just wanted to play their instument and sing. Others asked only for prayer. God has moved in many ways.. arthritis a lady has had for over 15years left her hands immediately they were prayed over. Another couple were heading home to close down their business and to declare insolvency... the Lord "told" them to remain open 2more days.. they did and had so many large sales they were completely set free of debt.. praise God!! Prayed for a Roman Catholic family yesterday and they witnessed to a powerful feeling in all their bodies... I informed them that they had met the Holy Spirit through the power of prayer in the name if Jesus... the only way into relationship with His Father.... an awesome time. God continues to draw his to Himself. Jn 3:16
We have also held a Church Service, and a lunchtime concert with Jules Riding.
It has been a snow weekend with more due in the next two hours. We attended church in Queenstown this morning, did a shop, had lunch, then made haste home before the snow comes.
I have just had a visit from a famer wanting to run some sheep in the back paddock... they arrive in two weeks... maybe lamb for Christmas?? .. maybe not!!
Until next time... read and re-read Haggai. It is a book today.. in His love. Maurice and Christine

  • Acceptance in Athol

    October 3, 2023 in New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 11 °C

Having been in Athol for over six weeks now, we do feel like locals. Even the postie brings our mail to us at the church, something which is a bit of a no, no as all mail is either put into PO Boxes at "The Store" or left at "The Store" counter for the locals to uplift. Why we are receiving VIP treatment only He knows!!
Our new car arrived here without a mark on her and it is just so wonderful having a second vehicle to run around in... we even took her out in the snow .. an awesome drive, and so, so, so, very quick!!

Over past weeks we have been blessed by not only many calling into the Prayer and Praise Centre to pray but several have accepted our invitation for a cuppa in Waymaker. It is so wonderful to have these visits as it is during these time that we get to "really" hear the needs and are able to pray for them. It is very special.
One day we had a couple from Napier leaving Waymaker after a two hour prayer session as another were leaving the church and whom accepted our invite to come back to Waymaker and visit... with more prayer ministry.
We also have been totally blessed by our dear friends from Rolliston calling in on their way past..

Last weekend we were invited to the Gore Christian Fellowship Church camp at the Lakeland Christisn Camp in Queenstown. This was our first break since arriving, and we loved it. We had wonderful teaching, ministry, worship, fellowship, and food. We have arrived back totally charged up.

Due to Christines appointment in Rotorua in mid-December, we have booked our crossing for Dec 13th. We will be back at Keswick Camp Rotorua for 10days then we plan to have Christmas in Tauranga, ... and after that it will be up2Him.

  • Snow and more snow!

    October 23, 2023 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

We are hankering down for a few days of miserable weather.. Friday will be another "snow on the road day!" Therefore we decided to take Waymaker through to Lumsden to dump and fill her up with fresh mountain water. Christine always does the laundry there but today the laundromat computer had crashed!!.. we decided to drive on down to Winton but the winds we getting so strong I decided we would turn about and head back home.

There is a photo taken outside the Prayer Centre last Friday night... the local police we out looking for Chrissy. Obviously they did catch her and threw her into the Lumsden Village Stocks for the day then a night or two in the klink!! 🤣
Last weekend sue, Chris, Carl, Dave ( Sue's dad), and I started taking out the trees around the back of the Prayer Centre... still a wee bit to be done.
People continue to come by for prayer or just to take photos.. totally awesome... until next time....

  • Homeward Bound

    December 3, 2023 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

After three wonderful months at the Athol Prayer and Praise Centre we are now heading north towards Rotorua/Tauranga.
What a wonderful experience we have had.. many thanks go to Sue and Carl van Schreven who invited us.
Although we have prayed with/for many who visited the Centre, we found the most effective times were when we would invite people back to Waymaker for a cuppa, and suddenly they would "open up" and prayers and tears would follow... very precious. Occasionally, a couple would be leaving while we would be inviting another in.
The Athol community just accepted us and loved on us... totally awsome! The locals would toot and wave when passing.
Our travel home is not without its ministry. We have been ministering to a lady here in Cromwell and have a pastor to visit and pray for tomorrow in Twizel.... wonderful.. thank you Lord.
We cross over on the 13th and will be back in Rotorua on the 15th for a few days... with church on Sunday.

  • Last Day in Sth Island

    December 12, 2023 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 6 °C

Tomorrow we cross back into the North Island after spending 4mths down south.
What an incredible trip... new friends, witnessing the love of the Father touching lives, plus His guidance, protection, and providing in ours.
We loved our time spent caring for the Athol Prayer and Praise Centre with the many people we had the opportunity to pray for. It also gave us the time to really get back into researching His Word...
Tomorrow, we will be heading up State Highway 1 and into another adventure in trusting in Him... bring it on!!
