    Early start and a wet day awaits.

    Jenny, Myles and I booked an Uber for 4am for a 6am flight to Gold Coast.
    A wet day greeted us and after we picked up our hire car, we had breakfast at Haig Cafe (Kirramisu) then onto Twin Towns Club and Rainbow Bay SLSC until it was time to check in to Kirra Palms Apartments.
    Dinner was at Kirra Beach Hotel, a walk to get icecreams from the 7Eleven in the cold and light rain, then back to the apartment for the evening.    En savoir plus

    This is more like it!! 🌞

    Woke up to beautiful blue skies and enjoyed a morning walk to Rainbow Bay and back.
    Went to Brigs house for 10.30am then on to see Vicki and Ashley.
    Went for lunch at Coomera Lodge Hotel which was very impressive and then back to Kirra for a rest.
    Walked to Twin Towns Club and had a very nice, succulent Chinese meal at the Orient restaurant.
    Hung around Twin Towns until just after 10.30pm and walked back to Kirra.    En savoir plus

    A chilled day in Kirra and Cooly.

    Jen and I went for a morning walk up to Bilinga and back, had a coffee at Kirra Coffee on the way back.
    Myles went for a swim.
    We all had lunch and drinks at Kirra SLSC then went on to Coolangatta SLSC for some drinks and a bit of Keno.
    We met up with Jess Savage who works there and then because we couldn't decide what to have for dinner, we walked up to Maccas and smashed a meal deal in the park across the road.
    A walk back to Kirra and a relatively early night.    En savoir plus

    Beach, Family & Food. ⛱️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🍕

    Jen and I went for a 5k beachwalk on what was a perfect morning.
    I caught up with Allan Sharpe at Haig Coffee at 10.30.
    We met Vicky and Ashley at the Q1 building to look at Skydeck but it was closed for an event.
    Vicky drove us around Sovereign Island for a looksee and then we went back to her place until dinner with the family at Eataliano.    En savoir plus

    Husk Distillery

    Our drive down the Tweed Valley started with a visit to Husk Distillery. We didn't know what to expect but were blown away by the whole experience.
    From their website:

    A lazy morning with brilliant weather.
    Walked on the beach with Jen and watched the Nippers Surf Life Saving events. Myles had some pool time.

    Darren and Vicky met us at St. Helen’s Burger Bar for lunch then we Bar hopped to Kirra SLSC and Coolangatta SLSC.
    The weather turned and D&V headed home.
    Jen, Myles and I had a drink at the Coolangatta Hotel then walked in the rain to Greenmount SLSC.
    We'd planned to go to Rainbow Bay but the rain had really set in so we scurried to Twin Towns instead.
    Jen hopped on the machines while Myles and I sat outside in the smokers area watching the lightning show.    En savoir plus

    Still & Barrell Whiskey Bar - Twin Towns

    Myles and I had wanted to experience this previously but it hadn't been open so now was our chance.
    We spent over 3 hours in here, I had a Whisky flight and Myles had a Gin Flight.
    Then we had several more drinks with the highlight being the Dubliner Irish Whisky. 🤯
    We listened to a guy playing an acoustic set, he was very good and the staff were amazing.
    Complimentary chips, nuts and Crackers kept on coming out and we were in heaven.

    Made even better with Jen giving us $150 that she won on the Pokies.

    The only negative was a couple of tarts and guy talking loudly next to us but they got dealt with and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.

    A 10/10 experience 🥃🍷👌    En savoir plus

    Jen and I walked to North Kirra SLSC and back then had breakfast at Made Kirra. Myles had pool time.
    Met Brig at her house then met Darren and Vicki for lunch at Coomera Lodge Hotel.
    Came back to Kirra and dropped off the Hire car and walked back to the apartment.
    Pre drinks before dinner at Kirra Beach Hotel then walked up to Aztec Mexican restaurant in Coolangatta and strolled back to Kirra.
    We had an 8am flight home the next day.    En savoir plus
