    We sat on the porch overlooking the vines and enjoyed a 3 cheese platter. We all had a tasting and made some purchases before we left.
    The weather was perfect 👌

  • Afternoon and evening in Robe

    After the Brewery, we drove around the town to see the sights and walked up to the Obelisk.
    After a short rest back at our rooms, we walked up the street to the Robe Hotel and had a pre dinner drink then enjoyed a good meal at The Caledonian Inn which was very busy due to the Lucindale Field Day.Read more

  • Morning in Robe

    Woke at leisure and packed up ready to go.
    Before we left, we walked up the street and had coffee and breakfast at the Bakery then wandered back to the Motel to set off for Penola.

  • Bowen Estate

    Bowen Estate was our first Winery on arrival to The Coonawarra.
    Great hospitality and really nice wines.
    We were given a card of 5 Wineries to go visit and mark off to possibly win a half dozen wines.Read more

  • Leconfield Wines

    Firstly, we were blown away by the stunning gardens and setting.
    Then we had one of the best tastings with Natalie (Narelle) who was super engaging and she took us through the whole range of wines which were excellent.
    Turned out she was a Northern Suburbs girl and had some commonality with Jayne and Jenny.

    First time we've been and really enjoyed it. Family owned and operated, they moved in around 7 years ago and started their Cellar Door.
    Their vineyards are further North in the Coonawarra.

    What we thought would be a quick visit to mark off our card ended up being an amazing experience with a guided tour by the owner of Majella, Brian Lynn.
    Together with a brilliant tasting with Stella, we were shown the Copper Still for the Gin, the yard, the crusher and barrel room.Read more

    We thought it'd be good for Cam and Jayne to see the set up at Bellwether which was formerly Glen Roy shearing shed.
    We re-acquainted ourselves with Sue and had a very interesting tasting giving us information on the local area's history and soil.Read more

    We popped in quickly so that Jenny could purchase her Piccolos.
    The girls had a small tasting, Cam and Jayne bought a few wines and we went on our way.

  • Upstairs restaurant

    The kids bought us a voucher for Hollick Wines so we decided to have lunch in Upstairs restaurant which had recently re-opened as a Pasta venue with an Italian chef.
    We enjoyed an amazing 3 course meal paired with Hollick wines, overlooking the vines of the Coonawarra.Read more

    Cam and Jayne set off early to catch Austin's Cricket Grand Final.
    We woke to a Foggy morning, packed at leisure and left Penola just after 9.30am.
    We stopped in to Naracoorte Caves, stopped at Keith to refuel and grab a coffee and cake.
    We cut across to Meningie from Coonalpyn, took the Ferry to Wellington through to Strathalbyn and stopped at the Bakery for a late lunch then drove home through the hills.
