First day in France

Early ferry from Portsmouth to Caen. Nice and easy. 6 hr journey so took entertainments. They had a quiz on board plus a guy playing guitar. Pierre the Bear for the littlu’ns. drove an hour to Omaha beach, site of (American) d day landings. Museum small but informative, Monument on the lovely sandy beach. Mindblowing to think of the blood shed gone on years before - ‘lest we forget’. FaceTime call with the fam, bit of food shopping then found an Aire to stay. Simple quiet carpark in Port en Bessin, nr Bayeaux, north coast of France. Made dinner at the van then had a little stroll to the port. V quiet all around.もっと詳しく

Day 3: Victorious Festival

Gary’s birthday! Went for a lovely birthday brekkie with Helen/Boovie/Evie then on to the last day of the festival. Bit more low key as no major bands we wanted to see. Saw Hard Fi, The Go! Team, Heather Small, The Enemy, Ben Howard (sadly yawn), Vaccines, Johnny Marr. Great festival, well organised, shuttle buses frequent and toilets not too bad. £6.50/90 a tin of beer though! Had a £17 Greek salad though the curries were better priced. Such a lovely weekend catching up with everyone.

Day 2: Victorious Festival

Lots of bands again and got some freebies (stickers, drinks). Ran out of non alcoholic beer so Gaz on the water. Free though, bloody over inflated festival prices! No one’s getting drunk! Watched - Julia, Natalie Imbruglia, Divine Comedy, Amyl & the Sniffers (awesome energy), Kasabian, also awesome. Nice easy bus back and sat out with Helen/Boovie for a bit.もっと詳しく

Day 1: Victorious Festival

Lovely sunny day on the most part, just rained at the last band, Jamiroquai - nothing a bit of dancing wouldn’t cure. Saw a few bands today and a bit of comedy and just a general reccie around.
Blossoms, Charlatans, Leeroy from Prodigy (banging dj set), Friendly Fires (great fun), Jake Bugg, Jamiroquai, also a highlight. Gary and I stuck together all day yet I moved an additional 8 miles? Can only be dancing 😁もっと詳しく
