Early ferry from Portsmouth to Caen. Nice and easy. 6 hr journey so took entertainments. They had a quiz on board plus a guy playing guitar. Pierre the Bear for the littlu’ns. drove an hour to Omaha beach, site of (American) d day landings. Museum small but informative, Monument on the lovely sandy beach. Mindblowing to think of the blood shed gone on years before - ‘lest we forget’. FaceTime call with the fam, bit of food shopping then found an Aire to stay. Simple quiet carpark in Port en Bessin, nr Bayeaux, north coast of France. Made dinner at the van then had a little stroll to the port. V quiet all around.Läs mer
