Today was pleasantly different. Drive around to Point Vernon. Then plants from roadside stall. Drive south to have lunch at Waterfront Restaurant, very, very nice, views to Fraser Island. Spoke with a couple from WA, been on the road since November last, due back to WA October, not a bad holiday. Went to the marine, couldn't get over high the water mark is. Left there and ice cream shop, sat bench looking at the pier eating. No tea tonight I reckon. All, in all, enjoyable.Read more

  • Nanango 2

    June 25, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 17 °C

Another beautiful morning Nanango, breakfast overlooking the paddocks of showground. Head to Kingaroy and only a short drive. Not much open on a Sunday, reminded me of years ago when shops closed Saturday noon and reopen till Monday, how times have changed. Didn't worry about peanuts. The town is bigger than I remember. Stopped in at Lavender Farm in the way back, seen lots of plants that would have been cutting originally, a bit disappointing. Plenty of old furniture and concrete shapes. Headed back IGA and bought a few supplies.Read more

  • Blackbutt sg

    June 26, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

On our way to Blackbutt, stopping for morning tea at Yarraman for morning tea, got to love a bakery. Then, had a look at Yarraman Weir Park, a place we will return for a ride on the trail. Then, off to Blackbutt and the showground. About to walk up to town, chap needed a hand with jockey wheel, he is his 80s we found out. Anyway, got talking, told how he could read before school and a lot of things. Joy just come to the point, do you believe there's a God, flattering denied there's a God. So we had a unique discussion. In the end, his wife goes to the Catholic church, and he stays at home. Walk to town, had a look around, and headed back. He approached us and asked if we would like to come over later, we did, the conversation didn't turn to God. Hopefully, will be able to help him in the morning with his water tank, then off to Brisbane to see Jason and his family.Read more
