Oamaru claims to be the steampunk capital of the world. A good way to describe steampunk is that it's a vision of the future, as dreamed up by a person living in the 19th century. We visited the Steampunk HQ which has a collection of artwork and displays in the steampunk style.Leer más

  • Wellington Zoo

    7 de junio de 2020, Nueva Zelanda ⋅ ☀️ 12 °C

Until the end of June the entry for Wellington Zoo is for free so we, including our friends Emile and Pauline, decided now is the best time to go. We were really happy to finally see Kea's even though it wasn't in the wild and they were doing grown up things 😂 we did get to see their pretty colours though. We also saw an Emu in an open enclosure, Capybaras, running giraffes (sooo cool, they look like they're running in slow motion 😂) and otters.Leer más

After meeting Emile and Pauline in Auckland at the start of our travels we met up with them loads of times in the North and South Island and became good friends. We took the ferry back to Wellington together and then spent a couple of days there with them. On our last night together we did a pub quiz in the Green Man Pub and on their last day we went to the Wellington Chocolate Factory. Now they're off back to Auckland and then home.
It was lovely meeting the two of you and we'll definitely be seeing you again, either in Belgium, Germany or somewhere else in the world ❤
