Another amazing day in the rea plantations. A slightly bumpy ride on the tuk tuk through the tea, a lovely walk to where the workers live, then a visit to the tea factory.
Our guide then took us to Sristi, a charitable company set up by Tata for differently abled people where they make paper from recycled elephant dung, a fibre left over from making tea, carrot leaves and eucalyptus amongst others. They also dye and block print wonderful fabrics.

Thank you Viraj and Nidhi for inviting us to your Haldi.

Again there was much dancing, henna hand painting or hendhi, and the bride and groom being covered in turmeric to cleanse and ward off negative energy and a symbol of moving to married life. Viraj’s friends then covered him in all sorts of things like ketchup, honey, flour and water!

Another night at the cricket, this time the West Indues were too good for us, but at least we had a free curry and beer!
And Esther and I were filmed watching the team get a six which turned into a catch and out. Not sure we will ever see the footage…
