Crossed the border with the US today. Drove through the Michigan forest. Seen many secluded and rundown houses. Ended up in a little town next to Lake Michigan. Not much to see here. Didn't do anything, beside getting settled up with a US data plan.Read more

    September 2, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

Drove further than initially planned today. Which is good as this part of the trip is basically just driving without stopping. But my first real destination will be tomorrow, looking forward to it!

  • Badlands

    September 3, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Arrived at the first real location. The Badlands! Looks amazing. Will stay here for 2 nights, doing some hiking and relaxing after a long drive.

  • Devils Tower

    September 6, 2019 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 21 °C

Amazing landmark, and did a nice hike around it. Too bad I didn't had much time to do a longer hike, but had a long drive ahead.

  • Cody

    September 6, 2019 in the United States ⋅ 🌧 15 °C

A town founded by the Buffalo Bill. Which I'm very happy to arrived to after a very long drive. But through amazing landscapes. Didn't stop for pictures tho. They will come tomorrow in Yellowstone!

  • Yellowstone part one

    September 7, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 8 °C

I explored the upper loop of Yellowstone today. The weather has changed for the worst. Temperatures have dropped and it rained a bit this morning and will rain some more tomorrow. But wasn't an issue today, besides having to wear a warm sweater.

Was originally planning on doing a big hike, but apparently the grizzly bears are very active in September, and it is not advised to hike alone or without bear spray. So I only did the more easy accessable smaller trails. I ended up walking a lot still and seeing a lot.

Arrived at the campground around 19h30 and decided to put my tent back in the van and just sleep in my van instead of being cold in my tent. Really glad I converted my van. My bed in here is actually very comfortable and I don't mind sleeping in the van.

But after writing a lot today, I better get some sleep to do Yellowstone part II tomorrow.

  • Yellowstone part two

    September 8, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 12 °C

The day started cold and rainy and ended cold and rainy. But besides the weather, I had the possibility to watch a lot of steamy pools. I smelled enough sulphur for the next year! But most of those geysers, hot springs and mud vulcanos were actually really impressive. So I had fun looking and listening to the boiling of water or even mud. I ended the day with the old faithful. I was lucky that I arrived at it in time for it's eruption. Which was a small event on itself. Tomorrow I'm driving to Grand Teton. Hopefully I can find some WiFi there to upload this, or hopefully my very crappy phone service I bought here will finally work. We will see.Read more

  • Grand Teton

    September 9, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 13 °C

It's my birthday and I spent it all day in Grand Teton national Park. Took a ferry across beautiful Jenny lake, up to the Hidden falls. Had lunch at Signal Mountain Lodge. And took a shower (which is an activity on its own as not every campground or sleeping place has one). And since I spent less time then planned in both Yellowstone and Grand Teton. I decided adding Bryce Canyon to my list of locations!Read more

Arrived at my Walmart sleeping spot for the night. I am at a national park hot spot at the moment and don't know what to do, I have the following parks in 3 hours drive from me: Zion, Grand Canyon, Bryce and Capitol Reef. And only 2 nights. If anyone has some advice, always welcome!Read more

Spend the day at Zion National Park. Was really cool, too bad that some of the more interesting trails were closed because of rock sliding, but was able to see most of the park. Tomorrow I'm visiting Bryce!Read more

  • Moab

    September 13, 2019 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 23 °C

Spent the afternoon in Moab. Just relaxing and drinking a Just your typical tourist town. I'm staying 1 night at the campground downtown so I can check out the local bars. No pictures today, I would have only send you pictures of beer.Read more

    September 14, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

Beautiful national park, but didn't really explored it that much. Did one hike in the blistering heat and gave up after that. Was still a very nice drive through the park.

  • Canyonlands

    September 14, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Went early in the morning to Canyonlands, so the temperature was not too bad. Did a really nice hike on top of a hill, where there were some old granaries. Really cool to find some archeological stuff in the middle of a dessert.Read more

    September 14, 2019 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 21 °C

Amazing camping spot that I found next to the Colorado River and super quiet. It is full moon, which is sad otherwise I would have been able to see a lot of stars.
