Visited cathedral in Tui. Sat in the centre having Tapas. Views to Portugal over the river, fortified town of Valenca.

Day 1 - Tui to Porrino

First day hiking. Some lovely little ancient bridges en route and lots of others on the same path.
Walked the last 10km with a Polish lady ‘Marta’. She was interesting but did talk a-lot!

Passed a piper on the way in a wooded area who was just there to help boost everyone’s moral in keeping goingRead more

O Porrino

Nice hostel with my own little curtained bunk.
A walk around O Porrino and a meal out with fellow travellers in the evening.
Tapas free with every beer!

The robot waiter was a real novelty

Day 2 - O Porrino to Redondela

Walked with three others today. Was a good day. A bit uphill for the first 8 km then flattened out after a sharp descent.
Arrived in Redondella, had a lunch - 3 courses, salad, fish and lemon pie.

Day 3 - Redondela to Pontevedra

A longer walking day today with some quite steep ascent and descent. Lovely day however passing through a cute estuary town with an old bridge. A couple of coffee stops and interesting walking companions makes the journey go.
Staying overnight in Slow City Hostel. Placed the old quarter of the city. A really cute and personal hostel. Everywhere I have stayed there is the sane Italian guy in my room, we smile and say hi but he speaks no English and my Itilish is atrocious 😂Read more

Pontevedra to Caldeis de Reis

A longer walk today 23.3km in total.
Walking time of 4:30 hrs but with stops over 7.
A couple of coffee stops and a lunch plus a swim in a waterfall pool.
Arrived in Caldeis de Reis at obut 3:30pm. Checkin, shower and a sleep.
Found some local hot spring to bathe my sore feet.
Meet up in the evening with the usual crowd, fabulous burger.
Straight back to the hotel at about 10pm for some well earned sleep.
My little Italian friend is sharing my room again. I must get his name 😀Read more

Caldeas de Reis to Padron

A great breakfast at the hotel and had a good nights sleep.
Slightly overcast on today’s journey but it wasn’t too wet.
Just one stop enroute for a coffee and orange juice.
Walked the second part (12km) without a stop. A welcome beer at on arrival in Padron. Apparently the peppers are good here 😀
An afternoon beer with my Italian roomy and then an evening meal for some local cuisine, padron peppers, grilled octopus and Galician pork.Read more

Padron to Santiago de Compestella

Last day walking. Started in Padron - 25km today.
A couple of coffee stops enroute and it helps.
Passed some fun buskers as well.
Arrived in Santiago de a Compestella about 4pm. Quite emotional seeing everyone in the main square outside the cathedral.
Collected my official certificate- you have to have completed at least 100km to get one.Read more
