    Prague

    Oct 17–18, 2024 in Czech Republic ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

Picked up Farhan at 2 AM, and we both managed to get some sleep Till 7 am. After having breakfast and finishing up our packing, we were ready to hit the road. We left for Prague at 9:45 AM, excited for the journey ahead. Along the way, we made a short but memorable stop at the Pilsner Beer Factory, a perfect little break to stretch our legs and enjoy the famous Czech brew.
Finally, we reached Prague around 5 PM (562 km covered). After checking in at our hotel, we headed out for a nice dinner and a bit of sightseeing to soak in the beauty of the city.

  • Krakow

    Oct 18–19, 2024 in Poland ⋅ 🌙 9 °C

It took us almost an hour to get out of Wroclaw city due to heavy traffic. As a result, we arrived late at our hotel in Krakow, around 20:30 PM. I had already looked up free parking at the stadium area, but it was full because there was a football match going on. So, we decided to park at the hotel for 15€🙄. After checking in, we went to the city for Sightseeing.Read more

  • Auschwitz Birkenau

    October 19, 2024 in Poland ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

Unfortunately, all tickets were sold out, so there was no entry for us. I had no idea about the ticketing system and didn't research much 🙄. So, we decided to walk from the museum to the other prison area. It’s surreal to see in real life what we’ve all watched in films and documentaries—another inhuman chapter of history, like many others, due to the Nazis. It was a half-hour walk from the museum area to Auschwitz-Birkenau. We decided to walk as we had already paid for parking and didn’t want to drive too much. On our way back, we took the bus, which is actually meant for people who bought tickets, but the bus driver was generous enough to let us on. I find Polish people to be friendly, as this isn’t my first time in Poland. Maybe one day, I’ll come back to see it from the inside.Read more

  • Kosice

    Oct 19–20, 2024 in Slovakia ⋅ 🌙 7 °C

Our next planned overnight stay was supposed to be in Satu Mare, Romania. However, due to a change of plans and on Farhan's suggestion, we decided to stay in Košice for the night. Košice was originally included in our itinerary for sightseeing on our way to Satu Mare. The city itself doesn't offer much in terms of sightseeing compared to other cities in Eastern Europe. Farhan was interested in experiencing the nightlife and trying the cheap beer (1€). However, after going around in search of a lively place, we had no luck. It's a quiet city with very few people around in Pub.

***On our way to Košice, we had two near-collisions with red deer. Luckily, my reflexes were sharp 😉😅. The red deer in Slovakia are massive, taller than our car.

  • Budapest 2

    October 20, 2024 in Hungary ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

So after coming back from my run, we were supposed to eat lunch and go city hopping. During my run, Farhan went on a city tour. After the run, I was as hungry as... 😅. We decided to meet up somewhere in the city. For an hour, I kept taking the wrong train one after another, probably because of hunger 🙄😅. Finally, we met up at 6 PM and decided to go for dinner. Farhan chose a highly-rated traditional Hungarian restaurant. It was worth it, and the food was delicious. After that, we went for a boat tour on the Danube.Read more

  • Graz

    October 22, 2024 in Austria ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

On our way to Slovenia, I was looking for the next exit from the highway to refuel the car, as I didn’t want to pay the exorbitant rates at the highway gas station. This led us to Graz, where we took a small sightseeing break, which was worth it.Read more

  • Bled Castle

    October 22, 2024 in Slovenia ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

On our way to Ljubljana, we stopped by Bled Castle, which was suggested by a work colleague (or more precisely, my boss). The entry fee was exorbitantly high at 17 euros 😲. However, the views from the castle are exceptionally beautiful and photogenic. You can read more about the castle's history online 😉.Read more

  • Lublijana

    Oct 22–23, 2024 in Slovenia ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

As we spent more time sightseeing on our way to Ljubljana, we arrived at our hotel around 5 PM. The hotel was a bit out of the city and not well-connected to public transportation, so we took a taxi to the city and did a short city walk in search of a local restaurant. Exploring the city further wasn’t really possible, so we took a taxi back to the hotel. I went for a run on the treadmill, while Farhan went swimming.Read more

  • Venice

    October 23, 2024 in Italy ⋅ 🌧 17 °C

We are finally in Venice, experiencing it for ourselves. After hearing so much about it and seeing it in films, it's exciting to see it in person. Luckily, we are here in the off-season, so the bustling crowds were not much to be seen, and the weather wasn't in the best mood as it started pouring heavily. Venice might be a bit overrated, but it’s still unique in its own way.Read more

  • Brescia

    Oct 23–24, 2024 in Italy ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

Brescia was just a night stop. After dropping Devjyoti in Padua, we stopped over in Verona to meet my university friend, who was on holiday there. While planning our vacation at work, we realized we both wanted to take the same week off, and our travel paths would cross in Verona. So, we decided to meet up for a quick selfie! 🤳🏾😅😊.Read more

  • Lake Como-Splügenpass

    October 24, 2024 in Italy ⋅ ☁️ 14 °C

Lake Como is full of tourists during the summer. However, at this time of year, it was completely tourist-free. We made a few stops on our way to Vaduz through Switzerland, driving over the Splügen Pass. For me, it was one of the highlights of the tour—the road had a spooky vibe.Read more

  • Vaduz

    October 24, 2024 in Liechtenstein ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Vaduz, the capital of the Principality of Liechtenstein, is one of the smallest countries in Europe. With its main street just 500 meters long, this capital can be easily explored. We saw many modern and unique sculptures on display.Read more

  • Zürich

    Oct 24–25, 2024 in Switzerland ⋅ 🌙 14 °C

It was already 8 p.m. when we arrived in Zürich. After checking in, we went directly into the city for some night sightseeing. I didn’t find Zürich very attractive 🤷🏾. I hoped to explore the city the next morning during a run and enjoy the sunrise over the lake. However, it stayed foggy until 10 a.m., and by then we were on our way to Strasbourg. So, we never got to see the sun over Zürich 😉😅Read more
