Not loads to do here despite being the capital - we found a tuk tuk tour with a VERY passionate guide who told us stories about Laos his Grandfather taught him.
Came here to depart on our motorbike (technically a scooter) loop - all the bikes were booked so had to lay low for a day or so
After dodging trucks all day it was much needed to take a dip on a waterfall, see a bunch of caves and statues of buddha
Our longest drive of the loop, had to be mindful of landslides and some nasty potholes - a lot of fun though. Only time for one cave and a view point but they were lovely. Our accomodation was an ecoWeiterlesen
Visited the biggest cave in Asia and we took a 7 km boat through another cave that connects two villages. The cave originally had monkeys living there that were hunted down by people loving nearbyWeiterlesen
Again, big journey back towards Tahkhek so only time for one stop. But oh my, what a stop. Zip lining and hiking across bridges and nets above a limestone forest with Monkeys and lizards (only saw theWeiterlesen
Completed the loop! Incredible journey that inspired us to go and do another loop before heading off to Cambodia. A lot of laundry to be done first
We like the first motorbike loop we decided to do another! We weren't as big fans of this one, but it had its charms - our last stop in Laos before Cambodia and we have to say Laos was way better thanWeiterlesen
Obviously you've got to go and see Angkor Wat when you're in Cambodia - cool temple, but we preferred the Temples nearby where trees grow ontop, underneath and through the ancient brickwork.
