Grand Canyon of Yellowstone

I'm creating this blog post from a hammock, swaying gently, at our campsite in beautiful Canyon Campground. It feels great to take a break after our 9 mile there and back hike on the North Rim trail in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.

We got up, packed a lunch and got to the trailhead about 7:30 this morning. It was chilly enough to wear our puffy jackets as we started our hike, the only ones on the trail!

We walked along the North Rim of this massive Canyon, saw amazing water  features, and beautiful colors on the cliffs leading down to the Yellowstone River. Along the way, we saw Crystal falls, rushing Lower Falls, gushing Upper Falls, gorgeous scenery from Lookout Point and ended at Inspiration Point. We ate an early lunch at Inspiration Point and marveled at the view before us! We then retraced our steps back to the trail head, getting to see everything from a different angle and perspective.
