• Life in the desert

    Deserts are full of life, at least this one is! After crossing the salt flats, we entered the desert to the south. This desert is marked by volcanos, hot springs, and lagoons, which provide numerous oasis for life to make a home.

    We encountered thousands of Andean flamingos feeding in the acidic volcanic lagoons, alpaca, llama and guanaco moving through the open desert plains and hills alongside tiny desert mice and rabbit like vizcacha living among the rocks at the base of the mountains.

    This must have been one of the best days of my time in south america, I took thousands of photos across this day.
