Got a ride from Kurt down to Lone Pine. In our opinion a much nicer place to rest before the bulk of the sierra than KMS.

Walked some through the Yosemite area. The red water is a soda spring, it is naturally bubbly. Tastes like iron now though as you might imagine.

I do not recommend Piute Creek. It was cool descending into a deep dark foresty valley full of ferns.
