    KL Tower

    Der Menara Kuala Lumpur (kurz Menara KL, engl.: Kuala Lumpur Tower, bzw. KL Tower) ist mit 421 Metern der höchste Fernsehturm Malaysias und der siebthöchste der Welt. Er steht auf dem 90 Meter hohen Bukit Nanas (deutsch: Ananashügel) in der malaysischen Hauptstadt und ermöglicht somit den Blick von oben auf die Petronas Towers.

    Kuala Lumpur komm aus dem Malaiischen; Kuala: (Fluss-)Mündung und Lumpur: Matsch/Schlamm = schlammige Flussmündung. Die Stadt wurde dort gegründet, wo der Sungai Lumpur (der Fluß Lumpur, der “Schlammfluß”) in den Sungai Klang fließt. Kuala ist die “Flußmündung”, also bedeutet der Name “Schlammflußmündung”.     Petrona Tower

    Petronas Towers (dt. Petronas-Türme, mal. Menara Petronas) (oft auch Petronas Twin Towers genannt) ist der Name eines vom Mineralölkonzern Petronas gebauten Wolkenkratzerpaares in Kuala Lumpur, der Hauptstadt Malaysias. Mit insgesamt 452 Metern Höhe überragen die Zwillingstürme die Stadt.

    In 172 Metern Höhe (zwischen dem 41. und 42. Stock) sind beide Türme mit einer Stahlbrücke (der sogenannten Skybridge) miteinander verbunden. Die Brücke wurde im Jahr 2000 für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht. Sie ist 58,4 Meter lang und wiegt rund 750 Tonnen. Um durch leichte Schwingbewegungen der beiden Gebäudehälften nicht beschädigt zu werden, ist die begehbare Querverstrebung auf riesigen Kugellagern angebracht. Sie stellt die weltweit erste Bautenverbindungs-Brücke in so großer Höhe dar.
    Da die Geschossfläche der Türme kleiner ist als die bei anderen, in der gleichen Größenordnung liegenden Wolkenkratzern, stellte sich das Aufzugsystem als Problem dar, da dieses bei einer geringen benötigten Fläche trotzdem noch eine große Kapazität und kurze Fahrtzeiten aufweisen sollte.

    Eine Lösung war der Einsatz von doppelgeschossigen Hochgeschwindigkeits-Aufzügen, so dass 58 der insgesamt 78 Fahrstühle aus zwei übereinandermontierten Kabinen bestehen, 29 pro Turm. Je eine Kabine des Doppelstockaufzug kann 26 Menschen aufnehmen, teilt sich mit einem weiteren gemeinsam einen Schacht und bewegt sich mit einer Geschwindigkeit zwischen 12,6 und 21,6 km/h fort. Wer mit einem doppelgeschossigen Aufzug in ein Stockwerk mit ungerader Nummer fahren will, steigt im Erdgeschoss ein, wer in ein Stockwerk mit gerader Nummer transportiert werden will steigt eine Etage höher ein. (Doppelstockaufzüge werden auch im Burj Khalifa, einem 828 Meter hohen Wolkenkratzer in Dubai, eingesetzt.)    Читать далее

    Merdeka Square (Malay: Dataran Merdeka) is a square located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is situated in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. Literally Independence Square, it was formerly known as the Selangor Club Padang or simply the "Padang" (meaning "field" in Malay) and was used as the cricket green of the Selangor Club (now the Royal Selangor Club). The building originally housed the offices of the British colonial administration, and was known simply as Government Offices in its early years.     Countdown Clock

    Kuala Lumpur is a city full of memorable modern and historical landmarks. Its Heritage Quarter consists of Kuala Lumpur’s most important historical landmarks such as Jamek Mosque, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, St. Mary Cathedral and Panggung Bandaraya (City Theater).

    Masjid Negara

    Die Masjid Negara (malay. Moschee des Staates) ist die Nationalmoschee von Malaysia. Sie fasst 15.000 Gläubige und befindet sich inmitten von 13 ha Gartenanlagen in Kuala Lumpur. Das Gebäude wurde von einem Drei-Personen-Team des Malaysian Public Works Department entworfen, dem britischen Architekten Howard Ashley sowie den Malayen Hisham Albakri und Baharuddin Kassim. Das Gebäude wurde 1965 – als Symbol des gerade unabhängigen Staates Malaysia – in Stahlbeton erbaut.

    Die Hauptmerkmale sind das 73 Meter hohe Minarett und das 18-eckige sternförmige Stahlbetondach. Der Regenschirm, als Synonym für die Tropen, ist das deutlich sichtbare Gestaltungsmerkmal: Das Hauptdach ist eine Anspielung auf einen geöffneten Regenschirm, das Minarett deutet einen geschlossenen Regenschirm an. Die gefalteten Dachsegmente sind eine kreative Lösung, um die erforderliche große Spannweite für die Haupthalle zu erreichen. Reflektierende Wasserflächen und Fontänen umgeben das Ensemble.     Masjid Negara

    Als Symbol des jungen unabhängigen Staates Malaysia wurde die Masjid Negara aus Stahlbeton gebaut und mit einem ungewöhnlich modernen Design versehen. Inmitten einer 13 Hektar großen Parkanlage befindet sich die extravagante, eher wie eine riesige Stadthalle anmutende Moschee. Gekrönt wird der elegante schneeweiße Bau von einem einst pinkfarbenen und nun himmelblauen gefalteten sternförmigen Dach aus Stahlbeton. Das 18eckige Konstrukt soll an einen sich gerade öffnenden Regenschirm erinnern, ein Symbol der Tropen. Aus architektonischer Sicht war diese kreative gefaltete Bauweise nötig, um die gigantische Gebetshalle der Masjid Negara überspannen zu können, in der 5.000 Gläubige Platz finden.Читать далее

    Putrajaya ist eine 1995 gegründete Planstadt in Malaysia. Sie dient als neues Verwaltungszentrum der Föderation. Der Ort liegt etwa 25 Kilometer südlich der Hauptstadt Kuala Lumpur auf der malayischen Halbinsel.
    In den 1990er Jahren erwarb die malaysische Bundesregierung das Gebiet Prang Besar vom Bundesstaat Selangor, um dort die neue Stadt zu errichten. Der Ort bekam seinen Namen vom ersten Premierminister Malaysias, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra. Das jaya im Namen bedeutet „Erfolg“ oder „Perfektion“. Dem malaysischen Premierminister Mahathir bin Mohamad zufolge sei einer der Gründe für die Gründung Putrajayas gewesen, Malaysia eine von Malaien gebaute "Verwaltungshauptstadt" zu geben, während die "kommerzielle Hauptstadt" Kuala Lumpur eine britische Stadtgründung gewesen sei.[1]

    The Putra Mosque (Malay: Masjid Putra) is the principal mosque of Putrajaya Wilaya, Malaysia. Construction of the mosque began in 1997 and was completed two years later. It is located next to the Perdana Putra, which houses the Malaysian Prime Minister's office and man-made Putrajaya Lake. In front of the mosque is a large square with flagpoles flying Malaysian states' flags.

    Putra Bridge is the main bridge in Putrajaya, Malaysia. It is analogous to Khaju Bridge in Esfahan, Iran. With a span of 435 metres, this bridge connects the Government Precinct to the Mixed Development Precinct[1] and links Putra Square with the Boulevard. It was constructed in 1997.

    The upper level of the bridge forms part of the Boulevard. This huge three-deck bridge provides vehicle, monorail and pedestrian access. Besides providing the link between Precinct 1 and Precinct 2 on the Core Island, it has been designed to be a special feature of Putrajaya.     The Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque, or Iron Mosque (Malay: Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin or Masjid Besi) is the second principal mosque in Putrajaya, Malaysia after Putra Mosque. It is located in Putrajaya's Precinct 3, opposite the Palace of Justice. Construction began since April 2004 and was fully completed on August 2009.[1] It was officially opened by the 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin on 11 June 2010.[2]

    The mosque was built to cater to approximately 24,000 residents including the government servants working around the city center as well as areas within Precincts 2, 3, 4 and 18.     Seri Gemilang Bridge is a ceremonial bridge in Putrajaya, Malaysia. It connects Heritage Square with Putrajaya Convention Centre.

    The bridge has a main span 120 metres (394 ft) long, with a 60-metre (197 ft) span at each end, for a total length of 240 metres (787 ft). There are six traffic lanes, each 3.5 metres (11.5 ft) wide. The deck level above the water is 36.75 metres (121 ft) at the centre of the bridge.
