    Goldie to the central coast

    July 29, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 20 °C

A quick trip from the gold coast to the central coast to see Jono's family. Josie stayed on to see friends in nsw while Jono headed back up and spent some time on Rob's boat seeing tangalooma wrecks and moreton bay!Read more

  • Fountain springs and Corella river

    August 27, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 21 °C

A beautiful little swimming hole that was very cold.
Corella river was a magic river off a huge damn, due to the rough terrain most vans didn't come down here and we had it all to ourselves. A very relaxing time.

Josie also crocheted a beanie and Mr. Whale for Miles Pruggan here.

  • Barkley homestead

    August 30, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 22 °C

    Officially in the northern territory!

A brand new homestead and a great spot to stay.

We decided to stop here, as when we were on our way to tenant creek (the original destination) we were stopped for a random breath test. The cops advised as that the crime was so bad we were better off staying at Barkley homestead than tenant creek.Read more

  • Daly waters pub

    August 31, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

Definitely the most random pub we have encountered, however great vibes and a very quirky town!

As we arrived there was a donkey running down the streets, a large man on an electric scooter with a wide load sticker on the back welcoming people in.

After having sat down for a bit, the traveling jackeroo also arrived!

  • Katherine homestay/bitter springs

    September 1, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 23 °C

Stayed at Katherine farmstay for two nights. Super rural with farm animals including baby goats, and a river down the back. We tried fishing but to no avail (again).

Also a photo from bitter springs which was a thermal pool in mataranka on our way to Katherine. Amazing!Read more

  • Nitmiluk national park

    September 3, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 34 °C

Probably our favourite national park to-date, we dropped Archie off before spending a few nights in nitmiluk and Kakadu.

On our way to Nitmiluk we stopped at top didji art gallery and Josie bought a fantastic painting and got to meet Manuel the tik tok star (who also played the didgeridoo for us at a sunset event that night)

On our first day in nitmiluk we did a 12km walk in the blistering heat to the gorge and had the most incredible swim. The following morning we kayaked through the gorges and absolutely loved it, it was a total highlight, Upon arriving back in reception we were blessed to have found that Miles had been born. 🥰

  • Kakadu

    September 4, 2023 in Australia ⋅ 🌙 25 °C

Our few nights in Kakadu were great. Another couple of swimming holes.

Maguk swimming hole/waterfall was potentially our favourite, a small 1km walk in and we had it all to ourselves!

We then went and visited the rock art gallery sites and climbed atop of a huge look out to see the varying landscape, before heading to Cahills crossing and seeing all the Crocs.

Our final visit before picking up Archie was to Edith falls in Nitmiluk

  • Darwin/Litchfield

    September 12, 2023 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 25 °C

A few nights in Darwin saw us going to the Mindil market for dinner which was great and saw the sunset (which everyone clapped for..???), and the museums.

We also went to Litchfield national park and found another few beautiful swimming holes (Florence falls, buley, wangi and berry springs) as well as the lost city.Read more

  • Coral Bay

    Jan 24–26, 2025 in Australia ⋅ 🌬 29 °C

Properly back on the road to finish our Aus trip. It started back in 2023, included almost all of 2024 in Broome then back to Tas, and now in 2025 we are finally finishing it - with an extra passenger! Josie is 22 weeks pregnant 🤰🏼

Two nights in one of our favourite areas, Coral Bay on the Ningaloo coast. A day spent snorkelling and relaxing, along with a very special day on the reef snorkelling with Manta Rays, a leopard shark, turtles and on some of the best spots we've seen.
