Day 156 - Cold? The Others must be comin

Stayed at Paul Wolfe shelter last night. No wolves but there was a rodent that chewed on my toilet paper that I'd left lying around.

I've bought a liner to go with my sleeping bag. I was actually warm for the first half of last night, but still uncomfortably not-warm for the 2nd half. Bit by bit I'm zeroing in on the right combination of gear to tackle cold weather.

Speaking of, an unexpected problem of cold weather was that my water filter froze. I tried tucking under my clothing for a while, then immersed it in warm water twice. No dice. I then made the water very hot and left it in there for 10 minutes - finally it filtered at about 60% of the normal rate. That's another thing I'm going to have to tuck inside my sleeping bag at night.Leggi altro
